Have seen this, never done it but on the whole always seemed to get good reviews, shame another strong service provider in the sector goes.

Sad news. I've done it. It was excellent. Reading between the lines, I think Honda have withdrawn support.

That is a great shame. I really enjoyed the experience. The fact they supplied everything and it was very controlled, no worries about traffic etc was perfect for me, wanting to get the experience but not planning to go to track days. I was planning to go this year before it all kicked off. I hope they find a new way to provide a similar service.

I'm gutted. Was really hoping to do it this year.

I had a voucher at xmas to use. I emailed them about 3 weeks ago, I guess they're working through a backlog, I've not heard anything back yet, good to hear they've secured dates, sad to hear they'll be closing up, although one of the anouncements says they'll be looking to find a way to continue so maybe it's a venue thing?!

Would suggest you call them, when I went they were pretty bad at responding to emails, but great if you give them a call

I think personally its down to Honda - reading between the lines Haslam an co appear to be looking at other ways to keep the ball rolling - if they could pair up with say nolimits trackdays or a provider like that and maybe piggyback some of their days that might work?

Heard back from them this morning telling me to pick a date.
I would email or call them again.

What the Ron Haslam school offer is completely different to what a normal trackday offers, there is no way they could run at the same time.

Sad news that it’s closing, I’m not convinced it’s a Honda thing though, probably more to do with Donington as it’s getting more and more expensive to hire and harder to fill the slots.

Looks like the California Superbike School is going to be busy.

Completely different philosophy and cost, not really in the same market, never have been in truth, its a shame they are going as they will leave a void but CSS unless they change strategy won't be filling that void.

What is so different about the CSS compared to the RH school?

It's a shame it's coming to an end. I did it last year and was the best day I've ever had on a bike to be honest. Also a shame for the number of racers/instructors who do the sessions too.

Did you jump straight to the "premier" or did you do the one before it first? just trying to decide which one to book onto.

I hadn't ridden for 7 years (gave up riding when my daughter was born, but had ridden for 13 years before then) and was lucky enough to win the day in a competition with Virgin Radio. Being somewhat rusty I was pretty nervous. I did the Premier on the CBR650RRs, but after the first session I ended up with 1-2-1 tuition (Premier Plus) rather than having an instructor between 2 of us on the Premier as the other guy I was paired with had a BMW S1000RR and was obviously not rusty like me. After the first session and some pointers afterwards I was flying around in sessions 2 and 3 like I'd never been off the bike! My instructor was racing in Superstock 600s in BSB.

CSS has already closed for good! (Typical,as I was planning on doing a couple of days this year).

Anyone recommend any track schools for a novice?
