Tried on a load of helmets yesterday and settled on the RPHA-70 as fitted great and felt superior quality. However I forgot to have a thorough look inside. Do these have the speaker cutouts? I use a Sena SMH5.

I'd welcome any owners opinions on the helmet too. I was originally going to go for a Nolan N87 but it just didn't sit right, was pushing into my forehead. The HJC felt super comfy after that.

Can't see any mention of cutouts in the manual: https://www.hjchelmets.eu/index.php?controller=att...

The Mrs has a RPHA 70 helmet - we use Sena 10S's and it fitted in no problem, there were cut outs by the ears for the speakers.

I tried one of these on today, felt the fit was superb and it did feel quality - the shell size seems quite small considering it was a large i tried on!

Really nice lid though to be fair, really like the "fesk" colours.

Just a heads up. Get ready to buy a visor at least once a year.
Where that catch is, they’re seriously weak, I’ve had mine for just over a year. Got two visors: clear and dark. Both have crack and on my dark visor the catch fell off with a chunk of visor in it.

Have a google smile

Thanks, although wishing I hadn't seen that as I was all set to purchase after deliberating, and trying on, quite a few alternatives. I did have a google and saw a few reports on forums of them cracking, but it wasn't like I saw hundreds of complaints so perhaps they have improved the design?

Glad I saw this. I bought one back end of last year & noticed same thing. Vertical cracks either side of the silver catch/bar thing at the bottom of visor.
I will be taking it back to dealer so I hope warranty is good for replacement??

Annoying really because I had a Shoei GT Air from same dealer that went back for replacement of the switch for internal sun visor twice ! ..or was it 3 times? Dealer was excellent though & gave a good price on the HJC too.

Just wondered if you had spoke with your dealer / HJC about the cracks and what they said?

I asked a local group.on Facebook if anyone had experienced cracks and whilst most people were positive about the helmet, there were also a few who had experienced cracks by the visor locking mechanism.

Same here great helmet. I have actually been impressed with visor. Not a scratch on it after all this time. Opinions eh!

I'm trying to drag myself there any day to address this issue. biggrin It has spoilt for me an otherwise great helmet. Most comfy, best fitting lid I've had that has everything I want from one otherwise. If it should prove to be a recurring issue I will investigate an aftermarket good quality match but still in warranty so we shall see. The dealer has been great over the Shoei problem.

Update. Just been to dealer who immediately acknowledged there was an issue with a batch of 5000 helmets/visors.
He replaced & fitted updated/strengthened visor in store so result !

Thanks Robspeed Grimsby.

Great news! Also good news for me, and other potential buyers, as sounds like HJC found a solution with a stronger visor.
