Well we've finally kicked off the season where Bridewell will win the title ??
However in race 1 things didn't shake up that way.
I thought this year was all about brookes and Bridewell but the Irwin's chucked there keys in the pot and Ryde looked really good until his bike got a stone in the radiator leading to a dnf.
Pre season people must of thought employing both irwins was mental but seems the risk has played off.

I thought this season might turn in to the Brookes show. I had an inkling that the Hondas would put in some good performances, but I wasn't expecting a 1, 2 in the first race. The Irwins rode the wheels off them too.
Ryde was looking really good early on too and I hope that he continues in that same vein for the rest of the season as well, i see no reason why he won't.
First impressions are that we are in for a really good season this year.

Andrew Irwin living up to his reputation again.
Ironic that brookes also had that reputation.Pretty dominant by Bridewell though.
Some of the stunts A.Irwin has been pulling have to be considered dangerous. The commentators never picked up on it but he also used O’Halloran as a berm down craner curves on lap 1 or 2. It’s f
king scary enough through there at speed never mind getting battered at that point too.I dont know if its because it has been so long since we last had any BSB races? But all 3 of those races today were absolute belters.
I cant quite decide if Andy was to blame for Brookes crashing or not? My first instinct was that it was a hard move, but the contact they made wasn't deliberate.
The interview with Josh at the end was interesting as well, his demeanour didn't seem to suggest that he fully blamed Andy for the incident?
But on the whole.
Both Irwins had great rides all weekend.
Kyle Ryde was looking good too and I can see him having a good season.
PBM team appeared to have some issues all weekend, not sure what they were? But something just didn't seem right.
Brad Ray had a steady weekend and should hopefully regain a bit of his form as the season progresses.
Tommy absolutely dominated that final race. If he can carry that momentum going forward he will it will make for an interesting title battle.
I'm just gutted that we couldn't spectate though. Inwas in a hotel in the Norton grounds all weekend and could hear the bikes from the hotel!

Balls!!
I may have f*cked up?
I had weekend tickets for this round, and a hotel booked in the Norton grounds 1 mile away from the track.
When spectators were stopped from going I still went ahead with my hotel booking and decided to have a couple of days away anyway.
Because the hotel didn't have Eurosport and I was recording the races at home i stayed well away from any social media or racing websites and turned off my phone notifications incase the results got spoiled for me before I had had chance to watch them back home.
I'm back home now, just finished watching the races, checked my phone and my pal had messaged me on Saturday night to see if i was still down there.
Now if he comes back and says he could have got me in to the circuit I will be so mad at myself. Especially since he won his race today as well!!

UPDATE 09 August 20:00
Race Direction decision: Andrew Irwin has been disqualified from BSB Race for avoidable/unfair contact causing a collision/crash with Josh Brookes. Irwin also receives 6 penalty points, 3 of which are suspended for the duration of the 2020 season. By virtue of his total penalty points accumulated (6 plus 3 suspended) he will start his next BSB race from the last grid position.
I know people will say rubbing’s racing, but some of Irwin’s moves were over the line from my perspective. Brookes was lucky to get away without injury from that crash.

I’ve just watched the race and re run this incident about five times. Andrew Irwin has bad reputation after last year, he pushes to far and it was an unusual place to overtake, but Brookes was slow Through Redgate for some reason and Irwin was well alongside. Bad crash but Cause 50:50 I’d say.?Race Direction decision: Andrew Irwin has been disqualified from BSB Race for avoidable/unfair contact causing a collision/crash with Josh Brookes. Excellent day’s racing though

There are stills from europsport and brookes elbow is level with the fairing of irwins bike , his front wheel is well ahead of brookes.
This has nothing to do with rider safety but pbm throwing there weight around and msv backing down .
I disagree, I think a lot (not all) of Irwin’s moves have been borderline dangerous this weekend. The penalty is to try to calm him down. PBM gain little from the DQ. When you see the immediate reaction of James Whitham and his comments shortly afterwards you know how he viewed it and he’s been in and around the paddock for a long time.
This is one of those where I’ll no doubt be on my own again, so I’m not going to get into a big discussion.

Not on your own, I’m very 50:50 as I said. Andrew Irwin has done some very marginal moves and Whitham was reacting real time. If A Irwin hadn’t got previous he might have got away with it, as it it is maybe this will encourage him to behave. Mind you you’d have thought that after last year’s events! The Irwin brothers in one team is a major incident waiting to happen. This is one of those where I’ll no doubt be on my own again, so I’m not going to get into a big discussion.

I'll tell you who else has been in the paddock a long time , josh brookes and look how little fuss he made .This is one of those where I’ll no doubt be on my own again, so I’m not going to get into a big discussion.
Why ? partly because he'd f
ked other riders over in the past but also because he left a massive gap for somebody to fill and A.I did .As to what pbm gain , irwin is a serious contender and he's now lost points .

I like that he’s a hard racer but when he(or anyone for that matter) puts on dodgy moves putting others in danger then that’s not on. Hickman at thruxton last year, took redding out twice plus a few extremely harsh moves today, he has form.
I’d like to think this penalty will make him wind his next in but as his last penalty didn’t so I won’t hold my breathe. We shall see how many people he can torpedo from the back of the pack at Snetterton.
Brookes is getting some stick across social media which is a bit harsh considering he never actually complained about it.
For what it’s worth, I’m not a fan of Brookes’ either.
