If Marquez is back I don’t think he’ll be troubling the podium as I don’t think he will be physically fit enough.

Binder has a great chance again, Pol will be desperate to deliver after this weekend’s crash. If the Ducati doesn’t work here, then it’s game over for this year for them. Having said all of that, I think the Yamahas will be back.

1. Quatararo
2. Vinales
3. Pol

Marquez will not be at the first race in Austria. Another race for Bradl. Honda have another opportunity to have all 4 Hondas at the back of the grid. I'm feeling sorry for Cal with his injury

Quatteraro
Maverick
Rossi

Highly unlikely, but then I'm not a savant with my predictions wink

I'm thinking we could have five manufacturers on the podium across the two weekends, Rins was closing in on the front three Yams last year. If MM93 is back for the second round I think he's a slam dunk for a podium. Zarco loves the track, shame Pecco won't be there or he'd be a good option for a podium. Miguel went well last year.

So crystal ball time:

Round 1:

1. Binder
2. Zarco
3. Rins

Round 2:

1. Pol Espargaro
2. MM93
3. Fabio

I thought a long lap penalty would be more of a hit than Zarco made it look!

Round 2
1- Pol
2- Fabio
3- Zarco

I don't think you can write anyone off this season yet.

That prediction wasn't based on much more than he has gone well in the past, its a power track, and the factory Ducati team need to pull their finger out.

I'm fancying the outliers, especially the KTM

The bike has progressed immeasurably with massive input from a certain Mr Pedrosa.

Then you have riders in Brad & Pol who can set a pace equal or better to the main contenders.

And then... what's happening with the usual top runners?
Ducati & Yamaha seems to be in disarray. Dovi couldn't go slower if he was pushing it around. Yamaha allowing Rossi to use his own set up is a clear admission of not knowing what to do.

Honda? clearly a team in deep doo doo without a certain Mr Marquez.

So If MM93 is only appearing for the 2nd race, I suspect he's going ot be under a lot of pressure from the up-starts. Especially BB33. His superpower is he isn't a fussy prima donna. Consider the bike, and even the crew that BB won on was the exact same that JZ walked away from due to his inability to knuckle down.

Look at BB's career. In Moto2 he had a bike that would not steer. What happens?, he perseveres, knuckles down with the team and mounts a late charge racking u the last 3 races and being pipped to the championship by a few points. Yes, the team 'cost' him the Moto2 championship but did anyone hear a single utterance of complaint or accusation? Nope, because BB is the consummate team man. In Moto3 he had to take 2nd in line behind Olivera while MO was lead rider. BB was far better but kept his mouth shut, accepted 2nd best support and parts and kept working.

Now KTM has a bike to be reckoned with, It's going to be fireworks if BB can rub shoulders with MM. Perhaps MM won't have as long in the sun as VR did....

I reckon KTM on the podium for both races. I really hope it's BB33. I think we're seeing the breakthrough of an incredible talent. And I feel honoured that he made me look like a berk at Kyalami on his RS125 way back when......

Zarco rides on the road, unlike a lot of them. He's commented the long lap was like a roundabout near his house...

This weekend - probably again KTM v Petronas Yamaha for the win: think Rossi and Nakagami will be in the mix for podium. Goodness knows what Ducati will do, and could say the same for Vinales.

Hmm, in that case:

Round 1:
1. Binder
2. Zarco
3. Rins

Round 2*:
1. Nakagami
2. Zarco
3. Morbidelli

  • Unless Marquez is back.

If 04 misses the podium, thats got to be game over for him hasnt it ?

We are deffo seeing a changing of the old guard, whilst some of the old 'uns can still just about hang in there......

KTM 123 would be amazing for them
