After 3 solid days of training in this heat, and then tests in this morning, I finally passed MOD 1 & 2.

The first 3 guys this morning all failed MOD 1, so that was a bit un nerving going into it. Managed to get a clean sheet through MOD 1 then a 10 minute break and straight into MOD 2, it was an eventful ride, ambulances, fire engine, someone pulled out and how I didn’t hit them was a miracle, had a couple of minors for a couple of wobbles at slow speed, but it was a pass in the end !

Having let my theory expire twice, then COVID mean it expired again I thought about just not bothering, butI have gone from CBT to full licence in 4 days in total.

Probably the most memorable part of the whole experience was the ride after passing back to the training centre....without my earpiece, riding on my own and not having my instructor telling me to cancel my f£&;ing indicator....

I must big up the guys at Pheonix in Croydon, great teachers and just generally good guys all round.

Hopefully on two wheels on my own bike by the weekend

Congrats.

I still remember how good it felt. And its almost 20 years ago.

I passed straight after my best mate failed... He wasn't very happy!

Nice. I still remember the day I passed, what a great feeling it was.

Looks like we've got you to blame for the weather these next few days then lol.

MOD1 is horrible, the one and only time I've been able to do a u-turn was during mine.

Lots of people I did my training fell off or crashed during their tests.

Congrats mate, well done!

I too done my training through Phoenix too, my training was at Crystal Palace, test s in Croydon. Mind you I did my test in the polar opposite of conditions in Feb at -2.

Well done for passing in this heat too! Best feeling on the way back from the test centre, instructor saying see you back at base and don’t get caught speeding!

It is a difficult test. I did mine on a 600 Bandit which is a bloody heavy bike by modern 600 standards. Managed to pass first time though luckily.

A lad was sadly killed on his mod1 about 18 months ago at my local test centre. He must of made a pretty big mistake but still a very sad incident.

The lads that failed before me

First one dropped the bike on the U Turn

Second one clipped a cone on the controlled stop

My training partner, had a brain fart and parked the bike fully in the blue cones on the controlled stop, and then clipped a cone on the avoidance, something he never did in practice not once, he “passed” on the training ground every practice session we did, he just got hit with the pressure of the test today sadly, but at least I’ve made a new biking mate as we have planned a ride once he gets through

It’s going to be the 790 Duke, finalise the deal tomorrow hopefully pick it up at the weekend.

I have looked at all sorts but have my heart set on it now.

I’m lucky that I have every dealer on my doorstep so have been able to go and see everything from a Harley to a Zero. For what I want a bike for i think it’s the pick of the lightweight middle nakeds

Exactly the same here - every damn turn in road was a fail on the hour before the test but nailed it when it mattered !

Congrats on passing both tests and welcome to 2 wheels (and an engine !)

Well done, I really wouldn't have fancied it in this heat, mod 1 can't have been pleasant.

The Duke sounds like a great choice, hopefully the weather takes a turn for the better and you can get out and enjoy it.

Congratulations, although I have no idea as to what you've achieved lol.

You just rode around the block in my day, examiner on foot, one emergency stop three questions from the highway code and there you go, L plates gone from your 250 !

What you have to go through now shows your dedication.

Congrats! and with plenty of summer riding left ahead!

Hope this will be me within a year or so, subject to covid related sh*te.

Interesting that you did it all so quickly. Did others you trained with do the same, or do you feel that you pushed your luck by squeezing it all into 4 days?
