Just bought a Bell Star mips iom helmet supposedly according to the website to have the DLX protint transitions visor with it.

Seems the website copied the America script as the UK version doesn't include it. Bit pissed with them as that visor was the biggest reason I got the helmet, and now I have to fork out for a dark tint visor at 70 odd quid.

So whilst I'm arguing the toss with them I've seen a bell pro tint pinlock for £50.

Has anyone here tried them? Should look OK as it fills the whole opening on their panovision visors.

I use these on two of my Arai lids. Whilst expensive, I think they are effective and worth the investment.

I think the transitions pillock inserts are a bit iffy.

I would definitely reccomend paying that little bit extra to get the transitions visor for yours though, you won't regret it.

Cheers.

Company, Demon Tweeks have now agreed to send me a dark tint visor after a lot of hassle, so I'll go with that for now.

They've still not changed the description of the helmet yet either..

Think the transitions full visor like you say is the way to go. Dark visors look great until the sun goes down then your fked wink

Pleased they did the right thing and sent you a tinted visor.

I swapped to a photochromatic visor on my Shoei about 3 years ago after going out for what was supposed to be an hours ride, but ended up with me being a 100 or so miles away from home and it getting dark. Riding that distance back with a dark visor wasn't enjoyable at all.

The only downsides I've found with them is that they do get `confused' in fog and rainy overcast days. I guess the UV levels must still be quite high and the visor will go full tint which can make visibility less than ideal. It actually caught me out at Croft the other week and I ended up riding on a track I had never ridden before, in biblical rain, on brand new tyres, with a visor that was fully dark. I rode like a minge for those first couple of sessions!
