Awesome !! That guy can certainly ride !
I have owned / own, numerous dirt bikes and was eagerly awaiting the launch of the new Tenere with a view to buying one ( or a Husky 701 )
I finally got to sit on and have a good look over, two 700s, in France, in early Feb.
With a near empty fuel tank, I was disappointed to find the 700, a tad top heavy ( just like my XTZ750 Super Tenere )
If you look closely, the sump and exhaust, take up a Lot of space, making the engine sit higher in the frame and raising the centre of gravity, dry sumping it and running the exhaust headers along the right side of the bike ( the same as the XTZ750 ) would have got the weight lower down, but guessing budget constraints, did not allow this. ( Wonder if the 700 motor could be dry Sumped ?? )
The Clutch felt lovely, really light action.
The OE rear shock, is the often found on Yamahas, Yen cheapo unit, 5,000 miles and all its fit for is throwing over the hedge. The OE seat, didn’t feel very plush. The finish on the frame doesn’t look very durable. Compared to earlier Teneres, with their blue or red frames, the new bikes choice of colour schemes, sadly do it No justice whatsoever, so when I do buy one, il paint it in 89 XTZ750 / XT600 blue / white / yellow.
Must sort out a test ride.

I sat on one in the dealership a couple of days ago. I‘m only 5‘9“ (175cm) tall, with normal length legs. I couldn’t get both feet completely flat on the ground... which brought back memories of 100‘s of falls from my old KTM 525.

I’m also living in Germany now, where there aren’t much trails to ride legally. So I then sat on the Tracer 700, which felt lower and lighter.

So still thinking/deciding.

Love these, especially the new Rally edition with the retro blue and yellow paint job. But it would be wasted on me and my meagre riding skills. Pootling around West London is hardly a trip across the Kalahari!

89 XTZ750 Super Tenere. On the YZE750 Paris - Dakar bikes, the headers were run either side of the motor and the silencer was mounted on the left.
