Picked up the new bike this afternoon

It’s awesome, I’m glad I went for this rather than the Honda CB650R as that feels like a tank compared to this.

It’s super nimble and feels very alive, it’s spanking new and I managed to get 25 miles done before the heavens opened.

The engine is a peach, although a little snatchy on the throttle at low speeds the up down QS really suits the bike and works well.

Can’t wait for some better weather to get out of town and find some nice roads to ride.

I don't think Crocs are appropriate riding footwear...

I’ve never tried a 790 but always liked the look of them, any better pics?

Google I'm sure you're find there are cures for the low speed issues, on my 690 an O2 modifier transformed it at low revs - cost less than £50 and was plug and play

I bet that is an absolute blast to ride. Test rode the 790 Adventure S a few weeks ago and it was very agile and the motor is a cracker. Not your usual parallel twin...

While I agree with this, be careful of who you buy from. I got one for my dorsoduro for about 80 quid and it worked for about 4 rides then progressively started failing and making the bike miss really badly - like locking the rear wheel badly.

Because it had been a few months from buying due to lockdown i got nowhere in getting my money back.

Oh and also congrats on the new bike OP. I was tempted with one of these myself. It’ll be a blast.

FNG it’s a great bike, I only have the Honda CB650 I learned in to compare it to mind.

I think it looks cool, certainly moves well, very nimble and sharp

Just need to get the first 600 miles out of the way and the running in service done so I can start to explore it’s performance

Congrats. Is this one of the prereg KTM are doing cheap to shift as the 890 is out? Bike mag reckoned they were doing £49 per month on PCP with £1700 down but I couldn't find it that cheap?

Really? That would be quite a tempting monthly...

Sure is, few quid down PCP it for not a lot of money

To be honest for what you get on the bike there isn’t anything with the up down QS, rider modes, LEDs etc for anything close to the price, some of the plastics aren’t as good as the Jap stuff but for my first bike this ticks all of the things I wanted, or would have looked to have fitted. The value for money is outstanding

Appears to be right. 1700 down and £55 a month. Limited to 2500 miles but it's only £60 for 4000. So tempting!

I was hunting for this one but couldn't find it....it might be a misprint. I sat on one last week and the riding position is just right for me.

My riding buddy has just bought one of these. He went from a VFR800 which was a very strange step but he loves it! From spending 5 or so years riding with him on the VFR this has totally changed his riding style and he is always grinning when we pull up for a brew. Reckon you will have a lot of fun biggrin

Definitely jealous......
Got to wait another two weeks before I pick mine up (assuming all goes to plan....
Then say goodbye to my Tiger 800.

Glad you're enjoying it - keep 'shiny side' up!!
