After doing a CBT at the start of lockdown, finally have my Mod 1 & 2 tomorrow! Forecast looks to be improving from heavy rain to broken sunshine smile

Bike has been sitting in the garage for what seems like a lifetime now, itching to get out on it.

Good luck! Try and relax if you can, I was super nervous for my Mod1 but managed OK, Mod2 was a doddle as I was chilled out having got over the psychological hurdle of Mod1.

Remember: You nail that turn in the road and after that you can ride to the next roundabout any time you need to turn round after that.smile

Best of luck! Try and relax, enjoy it (easier said than done). And don't forget the tests start as soon as you leave test centre until you get back - even mod 1 so don't do anything silly before/after!

Did my MOD 2 on a different bike than I had used for all of the training and Mod 1. It was a lot revvier and as I left the test station I nearly ended up on the pavement on the other side of the road. Thought sod it I have failed so may as well just enjoy the ride after that. Leaving the test centre was the only bit my instructor could see as well and he later told me he thought I had failed because of the start.

Examiner passed me and said the ride had gone really well after the little wobble at the start that he had put down to nerves, so I would say just go out there relax and enjoy the ride, good luck

How are you all getting tests? I've been on the waiting list at my local school for over a month. They say they have capacity to train but the test centre just can't handle the numbers...

I would also like to know, pretty much all the local schools are having the same issue so I've sent a few enquiries out to some a bit further away in the hope they can do something.

fked it - 2 minor and 1 serious (missed a life saver - not coming off the roundabout but moving right after leaving the roundabout for a parked car ahead) gutted frown

That is gutting for you but clearly not something you cannot address easily for the next time

reply sounds similar to me, pretty much clear and missed a lifesaver.

on the plus note everybody makes mistakes but having an almost clear round means you know exactly which 1 thing to make sure you're doing next time.

You didn’t f£&k it, you made a mistake, at least you know what you did, take a breath, book another test and you will pass next time

lifesavers, lifesavers, lifesavers. Turning left out of a junction, quick life saver to the left to make sure no cyclist coming up on the inside, overtaking/changing lanes/passing parked cars - lifesaver, make sure another bike isn't blasting past you, coming off roundabouts, same again.

Too bad, you'll get it next time!

I cant remember where I saw it but the best thing for me was to rename them bellend checks. Thats why you do them even when youre sure no one would be there but you still gotta check because some bellend could be doing a bellend move on you and if you didnt check they'll have you off.

As extra motivation, if you miss a bellend check and someone has you off, you become the bellend wink

unlucky you failed though, but it doesnt seem like too big a task to overcome. good luck for the next one.

Gutted for you, I know the feeling, failed my first go on a lifesaver, then rode the 2nd test like a headless chicken, think I spent more time exaggeratedly scanning than I did looking ahead ....

As has been said, get re-booked, you'll nail it and never look back.

Bad luck old chap - even a few years after Mod 2 I am pretty OCD about lifesavers. They feel almost perfunctory at times, but at least I would pass.

Best of luck next time.

Well done passing the Mod1 - that's the difficult bit. Mod 2 will be a lot easier the 2nd time around when you're not as tired from doing another test beforehand anyway.

I managed to get mod one by using a bigger firm with more odds of getting a slot (so they say ) as they usually put high volumes through their allocation reflects that it seems.

The journey to mod one centre is 20 mins away they said, just check before posting and it says 47 mins. Wow!
