Does anyone here own one of these, or has anyone tried one? If so, what are your impressions and thoughts?
I’ve a Kawasaki J300 at the moment which I use to go to the airport on my commute, and for trips around town, and although It’s still doing that job just fine I might want something with a bit more power.
The X-ADV looks still “scooter” enough to use for the same things (helmet storage under seat, plenty of weather protection, no foot controls so I can wear work shoes) but with a decent amount more power, and a better suspension set-up.
Downsides are that it’s chain drive and heavy.
Other options are a BMW C600 Sport or C400X. Honda don’t seem to have any demonstrators available, so I’m not able to try before I buy.
Thanks.

Expensive!
But they do look cool. If you are interested in scooter crossovers the Honda Intergra is a NC750DCT with a scooter skirt.
I should give that a try too. The whole point (for me) of a scooter is the practicality, the weather protection, big storage, so the Intégra should hit the spot better, but I really do like the idea of the (quite silly) X-ADV.But they do look cool. I had one. It was quite good, quite pokey. Underseat storage useless. Handled ok. Semi auto gearbox quite good, fun to do manual when you felt like it. Heavy b
d. Pretty good on faster roads rather than narrow town streets, but still ok. Can do 90-odd then it gets a bit breathless. Most I could ever get was creeping towards about 108 or maybe 110.
Lost a s
t load of money. Also when attempted theft happens they will break the headstock part which costs nearly 400 quid and is out of stock. Cos you can’t leave the bike without locking the useless steering lock as it is part of the switching off mechanism.
Overall next time I’d get a Yamaha Tmax again. Although that got nicked too. But on balance I prefer the yamaha

I have had mine for about 3 weeks and am very pleased with it. It is the perfect cross between a Tiger 900 and a Burgman 400 , both of which I have had before. It's tall, so the bars are above the height of most car mirrors, in semi-automatic mode you get to trickle, or blast it, or engine brake but without having to shuffle your feet, just twitch a finger. The under seat storage takes my full face Shark helmet perfectly (this was a must-have and why I took so long to move on after getting hooked on the convenience of a maxi-scoot). A 60kg pillion is insignificant, it doesn't affect handling one bit, unlike a maxi-scoot which would grind on every turn with a passenger. You don't need to engage steering lock to lock it, so I don't, I anchor it to a lamp post. Build quality is great - it's 3 years old and has done 10k miles but is as good as new. And it's red, very important.
Erm, that's about it, all good so far and worth every penny IMO.
