There was a very useful list posted a while back of various Ducati parts that were share with other Italian marques that were more cost effective and easier to procure - if for example Alfa Romeo or Fiat had an identical part in their reserves. I cannot for the life of me find it, does anyone have a link or remember the thread?

Asking as I'm about to get my 999S back to roadworthy after we saw the underside of a Toyota Tundra ten years ago and don't want to pay out the rear for all-new parts where possible, or with Duke-tax applied.

TIA!

There's not a lot on a Ducati 999S that you'll find secretly hiding in some Fiat or Ferrari of the same era. ECU and injectors probably - I can't think of much else. You would more than easily find what you need on ebay or at a breaker!

You should start a (re)build thread...

Seem to recall one of my Ducati Fan boy friends telling me he sourced a lot of Fiat Punto electrical components, relays, connectors and sensors etc for his Paso and ST2 & ST4

This is not about Ducati but it was an italian car. I needed a stepper motor for the air conditioning unit. The dealer wanted £900 for one, after a little bit of searching I found the exact same bosh part at the SAAB dealership for £50 !! Bloody italian tax rolleyes.
