Gloves that don't have rubbish velcro
Discussion
After trying on many different gloves from many different manufacturers last year I decided to give some RST Tractech Evo Race gloves a try.
Well they are crap! More specifically the velcro on them is crap. The glove itself is actually a very nice glove, but the velcro after only 1 year of use has as much 'stick' as a Thai ladyboys oiled up buttcheeks does.
The loop part of the velcro is as bushy as a 1970's Razzle summer special too.
The hook part is clean and clear of any debris and fluff too so I know its not due to that being clogged.
So ... are there any other gauntlet 'race' type gloves out there that don't suffer from the same tossy velcro affliction as these RST's do?

Knox Handroid?
I've just picked up a pair and whilst I haven't used them in anger yet, the Boa Closure System seems pretty good and they get decent reviews.
I had forgotten about Knox using a boa closure system.I've just picked up a pair and whilst I haven't used them in anger yet, the Boa Closure System seems pretty good and they get decent reviews.
Is it the MK4's that you picked up?
I remember trying on an earlier version on at the bike show a few years ago and them striking me as not being overly comfortable on my hands. I wonder if the shape and fit has altered at all in the newer versions?

I managed to nab them for £100 on eBay, worn once and as new, so worth a punt I thought but they seem pretty comfy if a little restrictive, although that could just be the newness...
I had last years Tractech Evo and found, like you, the velcro was p1sh. Tried the Knox Handroid and didn't get on with them at all due to the bulk. I've used shoes with Boa lacing for years and get on well with them so it wasn't the system that I had an issue with. Swapped the Handroid's for this year's version of the Tractech Evo's and RST have changed the wrap around cuff and velcro and it's a mahoosive improvement. Saved me over £100 on the Handroids too.

I'd look to Spidi Carbo Track (pricey but the first glove to get a 5-star rating in MotoCAP tests), as well as Racer's universally praised High Racer glove. I've used High Racer gloves a lot, and they are ace, but don't just take my word for it: https://www.mcgearhub.com/motorcycle-gloves/racer-...Bit of a follow up on this.
I got in touch with RST a couple of weeks ago about the velcro failing, as well as some stitching on 1 of the fingers that had came away.
They initially asked for some photos of the gloves, and then following receiving them they asked my to return the gloves to them via sportsbikeshop as they were initially purchased through them.
Today I received notification that the original purchase price of £80.99 has been credited back to my account.
Great customer service from RST.

Fair play to them, that's decent after a year of use to get a full credit back.
What are you going for next?
Its over a year when I looked at it. They were purchased in June 2019.What are you going for next?
I've already bought a pair of Five RFX 1.0's from their 50% off sale. So I'm already sorted for a pair of replacement gloves.
I'm always buying something or other off SBS though so I'm sure something will catch my eye sooner or later.
My summer gloves are RST and I also had the same thing with the velcro becoming useless. 18 months old so I didn't bother with complaining, instead I purchased a short length of new velcro from eBay, cut off the old stuff (it was only the fluffy side that failed), and stitched on the new.
Good as new for about £3.50 and an hour stitching it on.
