I need to have the clutch cover off the bike over winter and apparently BMW don’t use actual gaskets for such applications (S1000RR).

Any recommendations??

What’s the right stuff to use and what’s good??

My answer is usually whatever BMW recommend. If that's unobtainium then something from Loctite

I have used loctite 5660 on cars before, meant to be oil and glycol resistant and you can get it from halfords.

Yep Yamabond or threebond, same stuff, they are non setting joint compounds which is what you need. Don't use silicone bathroom type ones that go off to a rubber, bits fall off inside and can get anywhere, the proper stuff stays sticky and does not completely set which is what you want.

If you use the proper stuff that does go off, it won't just flake apart inside the cases.

e.g. Loctite 5980

I've used Hylomar in the past with very good results;

Loctite and Hylomar products are good.

Just don’t put to much on.

Double check with manufacturer for a spec, i know some Honda cases and Mazda gearboxes need a specific sealer, "similar" end up causing leaks. But you should be OK with Yamabond stuff.
