Smiths racing have announced that they will no longer be involved in bikesport after this weekends final BSB round at Brands Hatch.
No word on who Peter Hickman or Alex Olsen will be riding for next season but both announced that they had signed BSB (and all 3 major road races for Hickman) deals last week.
There is a bit of talk that a new team has been set up with Global robots as a title sponsor and factory backing from BMW but we'll see what happens I guess.

I'm guessing that Smiths want to protect their core business at the moment, which from their website has very much an ethos of being built from the ground up and very much a 'people' company. Probably difficult to justify how much it costs to run a BSB team in the current climate.

A shame, as their 'from nowhere' arrival into the paddock in the last decade was a welcome addition to me, as an armchair bike racing fan.
