Multistrada 1260 s of KTM Super Adventure S?
Discussion
Getting back into biking after a few years (10) away. Last bike was an R1200GSA which I liked alot, but Im vertically challenged at 5'9 and it was a bit too tall for me.
Have recently test ridden an R1250GS and liked it, but hanker after something different. Tested a 1260 Multistrada and also liked that, but I understand a new V4 version is about to hit the market.
Also seen a few youtube reviews on the KTM, but keep finding lots of posts on various forums about poor service and heat issues. The KTM can be had at very competitive prices at the moment - £5k less than the Ducati. Is it a no brainer or should I wait for the V4?

After 15 years and 60k kms on a KTM Adventure 950, I had a good look around this spring at a replacement big trailie tourer for two-up riding around Switzerland and southern Europe.
A Tiger 1200 Alpine Edition was many degrees less money than a similarly spec’ed KTM, let alone a GS or Multistrada. I own a 748R and happily have added another Ducati to the stable, but it’s too much money, weak luggage options and not comfy for a pillion.
The Triumph triple engine is a peach and everything else (active suspension, brakes, shaft drive, general handling, etc.) fits the bill for what I need.
However it’s a big tall bike even for me at 6’, and a bit unwieldy at slow speeds. Not sure how much difference the low-seat versions would make.

I’ve got a Superadventure S, it’s been brilliant, had 1 issue that was fixed immediately (while I waited)
Apart from that I’ve used it in all weathers, at the price they are now it’s a bargain.
It’s quite a tall bike though so that may be a issue, superduke gt is also brilliant and maybe better for you.
I get 200 miles out of tank, it’s comfy, fast and handles well for a big bike.
