It's true....Police bikers do nod in ackowledgement of you as most of the rest of us do.

This was proved to me when one passed and nodded to me just by Crowmarsh this morning (inspite of the visor and can)!

Most bike coppers are genuinely interested in biking and bikers and so you will normally get an acknowledgement back.

They are human after all!

I always make a point of nodding to them. Generally, they nod back although I must have seen some grumpy ones lately - maybe they didn't like the dark visor!

Two recent examples of police bikers - both good!

1) Travelling along a 50 mph NSL at closer to 70, next set of lights pulls next to me and advises me of the speed limit. No shouting, no sarcasm, no power trip, no problem!

2) Sitting next to BMW rider, with police bike sitting behind us, myself and BM rider discuss who is going to be brave enough to filter down the wrong side of (an empty) road with him behind us - as everyone does every other night. We both bottle it and sit tight, lights change and I let police bike come along side me. I ask him if he will "nick me" if I filter down the outside. His answer is that if he was on his own bike, he would be following me, but can't be seen to be doing it on duty! Again no problems.

Q?

What do you mean by "filter down the wrong side of an empty road"?

Cheers,
