Hi all

Any recommendations for some visor polish?
I have a few hazes I want to try and remove, new visor is £70 so worth a go before replacement

Thanks
Matt

Mr Sheen furniture polish. However, once they get scratched, its almost impossible to restore...

I’m sure I’ve heard toothpaste with some cotton wool balls

I just use normal car polish and wax, works a treat.

I've used a product called Polywatch to remove scratches from plastic lenses before

Surely a headlight restorer would do the job? They all come with a plastic polish.

Haven't polished a visor but did a fairing screen with a specialist aquarium polish but ran out halfway and finished with normal car polish and to be honest the results from both looked the same, so I would try a normal mild car polish although it depends how bad the scratches are.
A foam polishing attachment for a drill may help, much more effective than hand polishing.

I know its a bit late now but I have cheap car tint film applied to both my helmets, as well as sun protection it prevents damage from stone chips or you wiping the visor, much cheaper than replacing the visor and peels off with no residue.

I was going to suggest a headlight restoration kit

Depends on the depth of the scratch but on bike screens I've had success with fine wet & dry to get the scratch out, then increasing grades of polish (eg Meguiars) to shine it up.

Make sure it doesn't bugger up the visibility on a visor tho, especially at night.

I use Plexus too. I'm not an every day rider so don't have to clean the visor very often. So I'm still on my can of Plexus from 2006....

Thanks for that, Autoglym Super Resin Polish followed by Meguiar's NXT brought it up a treat, wasn't sure if I needed something special for polycarb/lexan but the desired result has been achieved.

Sometimes you can overthink things! I've been waxing my visors for years and they're great, helps the rain flow off too.
