I'm having a think......

I'd love a 749R again, with the view to do a couple of track days a year on it.

So taking all the bodywork and tank off, fitting track stuff etc.

I'm struggling to work out a 'fair' going rate for them at the minute, what would an 'average' 749r with the carbon bodywork cost/go for? Prices seem all over the place.

I can sell a couple of things to pay for it(zx10r track bike that was bought in March!).

Stupid Idea? I'd like a 1098r, however that boat has sailed for me and the 749r does seem a little more interesting.

I know of a lovely one that could be for sale and should still have all its track bodywork available.

They have been sought after the last couple of years as many regard them 749R as a better bike than the 999R ...

Just had this on WhatsApp

Mileage is about 5000
57mm termis
Original exhaust and carbon fibre silencer cover and ECU
Original cover and stand
Spare set of carbon fairings
Full service history JHP and Snells
Not been used since it was serviced last March due to lockdown

He was tracking it with the spare carbon fairings

I can't see it at £15k........... is that a full system or just the half system?

I'd be happy to leave the spare carbon fairings with the current owner.

I've found one a couple a fair bit under £15k, thats what i'm basing it on.

I can remember buying a 600mile old one for £6000! those were the days.

Thats cool, not all are equal from a condition / providence/ maintenance perspective, happy to put you in touch.

Thanks again, £15k is what he wants without the fairings. It does look nice though.

I’ve found a few sensible price options ones to look at with some lovely extras.

May I ask why you're going for a 749R and not, say, a 999S?

Its mintier than a polo, he looks after it fastidiously, he is also a Ducati nut having had various including a Desmo over the years.

Be interested to hear how the other stack up ..

I’d have a 999s if it was one of the very last ones.

749r attraction is that I’ve had one before, I love the engines in them, it just feels ‘special’. It’s nice having something you can hold the throttle to the stop on.

The lead runner(well 2 of them) both have carbon wheels(and standard) full systems, mega history but showing a little more wear and tear etc. So mechanically ‘mint’ cosmetically 80%.

However, they’re between 3-4K cheaper
