Hi All,

Following a routine spark plug change, I discovered one of my ignition coils has a split on the outer shaft (bike is on 38k miles). The bike runs fine, but I want to change it but cannot find a supplier online for the original Denso (part number: 129700-4400).

Could anybody suggest the best place to obtain these?

If the previous suggestions don’t work for you Robinson’s Foundary are bound to have it.

Alternatively just wrap it with insulating tape, smear it with grease and carry on using it...

Thanks all.

I saw the ebay ones and they are a last resort as I would prefer to buy new.

The first thing I did was check Robinsons Foundry, but they don't have that part listed under cylinder head assembly, unless I am looking in the wrong section?

Even Denso website does not list this for the K5.

I will ask my local indy motorcycle dealer tomorrow too to see if they can source it.

They're under Electrical, not Cylinder Head, on Robinsons' website:

Item 11, doesn't say whether they are Denso or not tho.

Thanks Cappo. £144 just for one. I think I might re-consider buying new!

Having just watched this guy use his prison shank to explain how ignition coils work: https://youtu.be/Hdy5c8pM3iQ

...I think I might follow Rubin's idea of insulating tape and grease on the existing one. The internals of the coil are likely to be fine, which is why the bike runs fine, so I may go down this route for now.

Yes, I did think that price was a bit salty! I bet they are generic across loads of bikes, the trick is finding out which tho.
