Where to get a bike customised in the uk?
Discussion
a workmate of mine has a honda XBR 500 motorbike, an he has asked me to enquire here, for anyone to recomend a company in britain that can customise his bike, so that it looks less ordinary.
for he'd like some new design added - body panels/farrings etc, handelbars, seat etc, an other exterior parts that wont have an overwhelmingly negative impact on useability, also he'd like, where possible, that some components be replaced with different looking ones, [for a less volume biker look].
also...
he asked, in terms of engine CC, whats the 'general' range difference for the classes of -
now my research is from sites by honda, ktm, ducati - so is all this basically correct...
scooter/moped 49-249 cc
offroad bike 125-649
motorcross bike 125-525
dirt bike 50-525
supermoto bike 940-1000
cruiser bike 234-1900
tourer bike 620-1900
track-sport bike 749-1000
nb-
figures are at extreme points
other terms used were from ebay website classification
scooter/moped 49-125cc - there are bigger 'super-scooters' though, up to 650cc
offroad bike motorcross bike dirt bike - hmm, what's the difference here? lightweight 'proper' crossers from 50cc but usually 250 or 500 two strokes, bigger 'paris-dakar' style bikes with 600-1200 four strokes aren't really that good off road unless you are a hard as nails desert riding god
supermoto bike - this is a motocross style bike fitted with road/cut slick tyres and better brakes for a particular type of racing that is part dirt, part tarmac - or a bike built to look like this
cruiser bike anything from comedy 125 cruisers to triumph's 2300cc rocket
tourer bike honda deauville would be about the smallest at 650, up to 1300
track-sport bike 125 or 250 two stroke to 1000 four stroke with all points in between, possibly more depending on how strictly you define sports bike
there are also commuters, usually about 500-600cc
'naked sportsters' from 600 to 1400
'hyperbikes' with 1000-1300 cc and near 200mph capability
