Most bike purchases are made on PCP and the 1200/1250 wasn’t/ isn’t an awful lot more monthly. I have an 19 reg 850. What do you specifically want to know? Mine was bought basically new from Williams Motorrad. It’s an ex BMW UK bike with all the options apart from ESA, cruise and TFT (none of which I wanted). I’ve also put a couple of hundred miles on an 850 Adventure with everything, so can probably answer on that too.
Ridden the 1200GS (2017) and owned a 1200GSA (2006) so fairly well versed in big brother as well.

Get the 1250. They're bloody good. Plus, if you get the 850 you'll always be thinking 'what if…'.
Two days of offroad riding on the 1200 taught me that the lighter bike is far more preferable. Now, if you are looking for something to look butch on the high-street, then get the 1250GS. But the OP already has a 9T, so i presume he actually wants to go offroad. Otherwise why bother?
Ah a nice quick decision!
Do they make the GSA of either variety in a low chassis now? I have a 1250GS in low chassis because of my leg syndrome, but your description of the 850 makes it sound quite attractive!
Anyway good work!
Edit: they do!

I was going to say try a 900 Tiger GT Pro or a Multistrada 950S, but too late!
Enjoy, the 750/850 platform is a good thing, much improved from the old 700/800. You will find the motor really loosens up when you get past about 4 or 5K miles. Like all BMW's the seats aren't great though, you may find the need to upgrade that if you are going to do distance on it. (The ones on the F900XRs are criminally uncomfortable!)
