Looks lovely - they have blatantly ripped off the Benelli TNT though!!

Thats the £14.5k 'Titanium' special edition - a friend should be collecting one soon; I can't wait to take it for a spin

Not a bad thing
TNT & MV Brutale are both fantastic lookers worthy of emulating

Indeed. And Kawasaki might even be able to make the thing reliable - something that Benelli seem to have, at least partially, failed in - aforementioned mate has the standard TNT at the moment and it breaks down in some way almost every time he rides it!

A guy in Bike magazine took a TNT across the Sahara in this months issue. It actually made it too! I wouldn't want to be the second owner though.

Denny - the Ti model is £14k-odd, but the normal version is about 8-9k I think.

re Sahara - yeah, I was amazed. Did you see the Fast Bikes test a few months ago, where they couldn't even get a set of performance figures as the bike kept breaking down? Well my friend owns that very bike!

Jesus, that's vile. Why anyone would buy that over a 2-3 year old sportsbike is beyond me.

Didn't see that one but sounds like a major pain in the arse! Will your friend be keeping the beast?

Insurance and easy to ride would be a first. I dont suppose its aimed at the sports bike rider really is it.

Why has it got sports bike wheels and tyres and wavey discs then? 600cc sports bikes are easy to ride (different but no more difficult) and insurance may well be cheaper but depreciation would way outstrip any advantages especially if it's built to its price. I'm thinking of something like a thundercat or a cbr600 rather than something more extreme.

Mark

He bought it to tide him over until they finish building his Titanium edition. It's an arrangement he had with the dealer - once it arrives they'll give him a set amount back for the standard bike. He loses a bit of money, but it's better than being without a bike for a few months.

Thats settled then, lets get rid of all these enduro style and supermotard bikes because they are pretending to be something they are not

A sports bike is not to everyones taste now is it, but the styling may well be

I don't mean to be funny but I'm not quite sure what your point is to be honest. My suggestion was that if you're going to buy one of these because it has sporty styling then you may as well buy a second hand sports bike such as a thundercat or a cbr600 (neither of which will be more difficult to ride) which will have the same sporty looks (although I think this just looks cr@p with a load of bits of plastic stuck to a raleigh grifter frame) but you will have some decent cycle parts such as shock, forks, decent swing arm and so on and won't be built to a budget so it won't fall apart in 2 years. If you don't like fairings then there's plenty of better quality more naked bike around (although I can't think of any other than the hornet as I've never liked them). As I said before the amount extra you'd spend on insurance would easily be countered by the saving you'd make by not having the huge depreciation that this thing would suffer (especially if it's as badly made as the earlier ones).

Imo if you're just starting out you don't want to saddle yourself with cr@p quality shocks and budget brakes... in fact I can't think of any time you'd want to do this. This is the motorcycling equivelent of the ford ka convertible.

Mark

I can understand some people not wanting a sportsbike - the aforementioned TNT owning friend bought it because he has problems with his wrists, so needed a more upright riding position, but still wanted the power and liked the styling of the TNT. Horses for courses mate, we all like different things.

(though I love sportsbikes, just the same as you )
