Kawasaki ZRX just bought.

Cheers!
Cheap & cheerful blatting ahead, woohoooo. The zxr was my first preference when I originally got my full bike license over 20 years back...however that plan was scuppered by high insurance costs.
Now both the insurance and the bike both cost very little. I suppose patience pays off sometimes.

Looks great, but €705 for a pair of tyres and a chain and sprockets, jesus....
....including fitting. Here in Germany there are enough people happy to pay those prices... weird, I know. You should see what people pay to get their bicycles "serviced".I’ve been for a short ride in the pissing rain for an MOT (TUV), which it passed, and noticed that the seat seems much higher than I remembered from 20 odd years ago. I then noticed that the previous owner raised the rear ride height by about 40mm with a bolt on jacking plate under each rear shock. Being not vertically endowed, I will be removing them.
Compared to my Ducati 999, everything is so pleasingly Japanese, silent and smooth. The throttle is much heavier than I was expecting though, maybe it has a quick turn version fitted?
Anyway... the aim is to get new number plates tomorrow, I will need a bit of luck I reckon.

Lovely looking bike OP, congratulations. What's the steering like with the back jacked up so much?
Pouring rain, new tyres....I was happy to just get to the test centre. I´ll let you know when I´ve had a proper ride.I jacked up the back of my old zxr400 to the max, and slid the fork bridge down about 10mm at the front. I did it bit by bit, in the end it was super sharp and weirdly I only got big tank slapper once, lot of small ones though, which only added to the pleasant "I´m gonna lose it feeling". The big tank slapper was hitting a catseye at about 110 mph with a fair amount of lean on. The small ones were just from normal bumps on the road.

Lovely bike, but jeans in boots....
I hear that’s a faux pas! Oh, the horror.
What’s one to do... my jeans don’t fit outside my boots?
However, lovely buy
I keep getting drawn to these especially in the green......

Lovely bikes. A good friend of mine has an immaculate 1997 example with under 30,000 miles on it that he's owned for about 15 years now. I have had a go on it, and that detuned ZZR1100 engine is a torque monster. So effortless.
I‘m very happy with it, thanks. It also has 30k miles. The torque at low revs makes it very unflustered to ride. It’s -10C here now and the roads are a mixture of snow and salt... so I haven’t ridden it for a week. I’m really looking forward to the spring, and thrashing the crap out of it!Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
