Going to look at one of these on Tuesday.

27k miles, all the bells and whistles.

Any hints or tips on what to look out for?!

Thanks

They are big heavy buses so check consumables carefully, and look for broken plastics, spares are scarce, also check all the electrics work perfectly, I have never seen one on the road!

Yep, never really been on my radar but one has popped up locally and it looks fantastic!

I had sat on one in the showroom 5 or 6 years ago.

By the way, this is at a Triumph dealer (not a private sale).

Look at it just as hard. Chances are someone has run it low on consumables and done a p/x. The dealer won't be doing anything to it they don't have to.

Negotiate new tyres if they are low and also a service if its due soon.

The engine and shaft drive are the same as the 1200 Explorer, and there’s plenty of them around. So spares should be ok for mechanical bits - plastics might be harder as time goes on. I used to see one quite often commuting into London, no idea where it came from each day, other than it used the Blackwall tunnel at the same time as me occasionally. Very similar to the R1200RT in size and design - it’s a shame they weren’t more popular really.

OK, I've been to see the Trophy today.

It looks very clean. 2 owners from new, first owner did 25k miles and second owner has only covered 2k miles since 2018.

It's at a Triumph dealer, although not the original dealer.

New in October 2014.

First service at 597 miles, second at 10k and then an overdue service at 25k odd. That was at the end of 2017.

Since then it's done less than 2000 miles, sitting at just over 27k miles.

The selling dealer carried out the 25k mile service and included brake fluid and coolant change, plus a new rear tyre and rear pads.

According to the history fork seals were changed at 20k miles.

Dealer is saying it will be fully serviced and will include another brake fluid and coolant change as it's been over 3 years.

I'll post some pictures shortly. Going to wait for some drier weather and take it out for a few hours.

Looks very tidy.

Shame about not having a rad guard but then it doesn't seem to have taken too much of a hammering.

I sat on one once and thought there was too much blank black plastic around the dash and the mirrors.

Well I guess there is, but I presume it houses the screen motors, speakers, lights, etc.

Doesn't really bother me too much for a £7k-£8k bike.

Very buyable.

They never really sold that well as they weren't that much cheaper than a BMW and the looks are a bit bland but the ones out there tend to be in great condition.

They are cracking bikes for doing decent mileage on, great engine, very comfy, good fuel economy, very little goes wrong with them and Triumph owners tend to maintain scrupulously.

You won't be disappointed.

Yeah I’m pretty sold on it pending a test ride.

I was surprised by the height - I’m 6’2” and couldn’t quite get both feet flat on the floor! I think the seat may have been in the higher position.

That looks very tidy considering, if it's well priced and the dealer's being decent (which it sounds like) then that'll be a good buy I reckon.
