Help! Seems my tank isn't the easiest to fill, or I'm a clumsy oaf... hmmm, ok moving on laugh

I've got these splashes on my seat, from a few fillups now. I tried to mop up as best I could at the time but because of the diagonal embossing in the material it's obv not fully cleaning it off.

Once dried, I can't get it off at all - tried isopropyl alcohol, degreaser, petrol, contact cleaner. The only thing I haven't tried is thinners and that's because I sense I'd melt the seat cover away and just leave the bloody splashes jester

Any proven products to shift this? Don't want to splurge 150 quid on a new seat cover, especially if the same thing could happen again - if I was a clumsy oaf again, obviously...

You what? You've tried cleaning a petrol stain with.....petrol?

Try some quality vinyl cleaner. It might make the seat slippery for a while but it may also clean it.

I've tried quite a few things, but yeah I've used petrol in the past to clean stuff at a pinch.

Point is it comes off fine with a microfibre cloth when wet, but if it's spilled at a petrol station it's dried on by the time you can get home and have a proper go at it.

Have given some car interior cleaners and tar removers a try, too. None of them have made it worse, but none of them have shifted it either.

Use a hairdryer or a heat gun and gently and progressively put a little heat in to it. It might darken it back again.

Be careful though, don't be rampageous with it or you will knacker it for good.
