Trying to decide whether to hold off pushing the button on a 2020 ex demo bike (400 ish miles) in stock at dealership. Wondering if I'm likely to see a price drop when the new reg comes in on March 1st?
what do you think?

Maybe but someone else may buy it first.

Unless the price now is definitely to high I’d just buy it and know you’ve got the bike you want and forget about the money.

As trickywoo says, just get it bought, or miss out!

KTM usually have a significant price drop before the new stock come in. However, you play the game of losing out.

No chance.

Why would a dealer lower the price of a bike as we move into the best time of year for them to sell bikes?

One of the old-school dealers in Edinburgh used to add a couple of hundred to the sticker price of all his showroom bikes at the start of April every year; amazing how many still sold with very little haggling!

Is that a fair reflection or offset by the euro5 pre registrations?

If anything demand for toys will be stronger this year due to people having saved money during the pandemic and pent up itchy wallet syndrome.

I would not bank on demand being less

I think the influence of Brexit and the additional difficulties/cost of importing bikes , we will see some new bike prices rise and second hand prices rise with it.

That would be the same pandemic that has seen used bike prices increasing for the last year

Generally that's December onwards, can't be much left by March

Strange that I was offered a GSX-R1000R for a grand less than 6 months ago then.

I'm waiting to see what they announce at the Budget, the first week of March.

There are always a few bargains / desperate sellers around

The Groups are full of guys moaning that they can't replace bikes they sold in the last few years for similar prices.

I buy and sell a few bikes - I sold a 2008 990 SD for £3500 in the summer at a good profit, I can't even buy one for that price now. I bought a 2016 690 Duke with 9k that was mint for £4k off a Dealer, this time last year - no chance of that now, yet the bike is a year older.
