Hi, new biker here, I bought a 2020 Yamaha MT-125 recently, 6 months old, rides great but I left it standing 4 weeks over January and looks like the Tracker and Alarm that had been installed drained the battery! Nothing else to explain it as my older YS-125 never had issues being left for a few weeks.

Anyway, i removed the tracker, it seems it was a cheap self install just sitting on top of the battery...I’ve gone to jump start it with a usb battery pack I got online but all that happens is that all the indicators come on and stay on and I can here a buzz coming from the bike...is this an immobiliser/alarm preventing the bike firing? The alarm doesn’t arm right now.

Can a trickle charger help or is it new battery time?

Is the buzz when you put the ignition on? Cause that's most likely the fuel pump.

Sounds like it's still got low voltage even with the boost pack on and the immobiliser doesn't like it.

I'd give the battery a full charge up and see what the voltage is, should be around 12.8-13.1.

Was there a plug that the alarm tracker plugged into ? It may be that the alarm is spliced into the starter relay and the tip sensor to detect movement and immobilize the bike - unplugging the alarm will stop the bike - I would get a good charge into the battery and plug the alarm back in.

Get a CTEK battery tender, make it easier on yourself with some comfort connections.. plug in and forget.

Unplug when wanting to use the bike, plug in when not using it.

the CTEK will monitor the battery and keep it in good health.
