Lots of really good articles in it. Having a Speed Triple 1200 on order i particularly liked the Speed Triple item where they compare all the versions, from 1 to the latest one.
Under 100 bhp, in stages up to 176 bhp.
That's going to kick some serious ass as it's also the lightest one ever.
1160cc, 3 cylinders, street fighter style, very light, what's not to like? !

I'd be interested to see that, but have they properly ridden the 1200RS yet or just judging by the lauch event?

Not properly ridden yet. I am more than happy with the spec, looks and performance.

192 kgs, which for a mass produced bike with the enormous amount of (heavy and fat) emissions and noise crap it has to have is pretty impressive.
Mine will get lighter very quickly as i am getting a tail tidy and a lightweight exhaust system for it the minute i can get hold of them. It should be quite easy to save 10 or more kgs that way.
The 176 bhp and 92 ft of torque will help deal with the weight quite nicely.
Triumph have nailed it with the new version of a very nice bike.

biggrin

I asked for that one. Thank you.

I know two previous owners of previous models that mentioned the mass being high up. I like the look of high rise under seat exhausts but does mean weight high up. One of those two previous owners didn't feel that confident and seems they've got shot due to wrist issues. I suppose their wrist issues may've been due to not relaxing enough and having too firm a grip on the bars.

It's actually a good point. I've been a subscriber to bike for a long long time. For 4.60 you basically get a pamphlet now, April issue was 114 pages long printed on really cheap paper. Going back a few years it was a proper glossy mag with nearly 200 pages of content.

You've got to feel sorry for the printed press being up against free online content, however it's getting more difficult to justify the cover price now. My local mega Sainsbury's doesn't even stock a single motorbike mag anymore - sad times.

Personally I don’t get why Bike magazine is apparently Britains best selling bike magazine ( unless there are no others?). I’m glad I don’t pay for it. Even struggle to read a whole article in it in one sitting.

Not to start an argument about which bike magazine is best I get Practical Sportsbike on subscription (technically my daughter pays for it as part of my Christmas present every year).

The core material is more of interest to me being of a certain age.

That’s the claimed dry weight. Add water, oil, brake fluid and a tank of fuel and it’s got to be nearer 220Kg. Still good but in line with other naked bikes.

They say 198kg wet. Not that it would make any practical difference but 220kg would be death for it on the spec sheets vs the competition.

Sorry yes 182Kg is dry weight. I still think 198Kg will be optimistic unless it’s a very small fuel tank.

Is it not £10 a month after the free 30 day trial?

Its my Mrs account but I am sure she doesn't pay anything for it? I'll ask her when she gets home from work. I'm sure she doesn't pay anything for it though?

With the amount I've spent on bike parts recently, I wouldn't have a leg to stand on anyway laugh

Tell me about it - I was hoping to sneak a delivery of a couple of sets of track tyres directly to the garage without her knowing.

I got a text off her saying your tyres have been delivered.

Bloody delivery driver being all efficient!
