Bike Jeans - Which Are Fully Lined And Lightweight ?
Discussion
You need single layer, they are not lined because the aramid material is built into the fabric.
I have been wearing Rokker for the last 5 years or so. Expensive, but the best fit and feel Ive found.
The regular Rokker are single layer, very nice for warmer months. Due to the lack of windproof lining you may want a base layer on cooler mornings. These are not waterproof but shower resistant.
Rokker Revolution have a bonded breathable membrane inside so are waterproof and windproof. Perfect for British weather as an all round jean and only on the warmest of days, say over 30 deg C do they feel warm and you wish you had bought the non waterproof version.
www.motolegends.com had a Rokker sale on recently.....

Light and fully lined don't go together I'm afraid. As per last post, you'll be wanting the new ones with the aramid woven in. I went for Lindstrands from Motolegends as a mid-point: heavy enough to feel reassuring, okay in summer and not too pricey. I also liked the looser dad-cut to them which means they go over my boots.
I also am a Rokker fan. The Rokkertech jeans are really nice, so much so I sometimes wear them as every day jeans minus the hip/knee inserts. When I was tired of checking the rain forcast I got a pair of Rokker Revolutions - perfect all year. No more waterproof overtrousers needed. Just add base layer on cold days. Despite that the Rokkertechs are still my favourite.

Do they fit over boots? I have summer boots which fit under most things but my Alpinestars waterproof ones are really bulky round the topAbout boots... good question. I have a pair of Rokker Urban Racer boots which work well (surprise) and have started looking again at more race/sport derived boots as I'm doing a lot of miles and should get something more safety biased. The urban racers don't sit well with my all the gear all the time mentality. I want greater ankle protection. I'm not sure what will fit though. I know that Alpinestars SMX Plus V2 Goretex boots don't fit.

Am I missing something here? Just looked at the Rokker jeans and they are over £300.
If you bought a £300 set of textile pants, they would be decent but more importantly being textile pants, you don’t wash them much and imho most of the wear comes from washing.
You will be washing jeans every time you wear them. So they will wear out after a year. £300+ is a lot for something which will wear out fast.

I agree but this is PH where £300 is like £20 to most of us non IT, non bankers. If you bought a £300 set of textile pants, they would be decent but more importantly being textile pants, you don’t wash them much and imho most of the wear comes from washing.

Thanks for the reply, those are the exact boots I have so good to know! I keep looking at RST jeans, a lot easier on the wallet and seem to have good reviews so might try those instead

Ive done about 50k miles in my Rokker jeans over the last 5-6 years and they are not very worn, maybe a little faded on the front. The material is highly abrasion proof (obviously) so does not wear like regular jeans. Included in the price is a full set of D30 armour worth about £40-50. You have to think of them not as "jeans" but as top spec textile trousers. As abrasion resistant as leather and as water resistant as gore-tex textiles (if you get the Revolution version) they just look like jeans....
Other than track use, you only need one set of bike trousers for most conditions.
Seem to fit the bill, but still £250, not cheap.
My rst ones are decent, but not light or fully lined i don't think

Sorry, I really messed up the last line. I was trying to type that the Alpinestars do not fit. The shin part was too big to fit under.
That was what I thought you meant
The shin bit is annoyingly bulky! Have worn them commuting through the winter and my feet have been warm and dry the whole time so is a small price to pay to be fair to themhttps://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/...

Good point re: cost. I came to bikes mid-life and all still seems cheap compared to the car I would have bought instead. That's my excuse anyway...

Thanks - I couldn't remember but these are what I owned before - never tested the crash worthiness but I've ridden in drizzle for 3hrs in the Easyriders and they stayed dryhttps://roadskin.co.uk/product/roadskin-easyrider-...

I just read up on these and see the waterproof membrane is on the inside. If it is raining, do you find that even if you stay dry on the inside, the jeans get saturated on the outside and feel uncomfortable/heavy/cold?If you are just walking around the street in dry weather in the Revolutions, how do they feel in comparison to a pair of bog standard Levis?
