I bought a yellow bike, I like bright colours, I'm aware some don't but bugger me I usually sell bikes within 3hrs to 14 days - I've had it for 6 weeks !

It's the cheapest of it's type / spec on offer

My question is - what colour do you prefer, what colours do you avoid and would you buy whichever colour you dislike if it was cheap enough ?

Eg I like the Speed Triple in all the colours but I'm not a fan of white, I'm aware the green might not be to everyone's taste but I was surprised how many seem to hate the purple

I wouldn't own a pink bike but other than that I'm open to any colour, but a white one would have to be cheap

I avoid yellow!

I generally buy green Kawasaki's, blue Yamaha's, met blue Triumph's but have had all sorts of different colour bikes over the years but never a yellow one (apart from a blue and yellow 929 blade)

What bike is it? A Mille?

I’ve got a yellow bike - 60th Anniversary R1 with the Kenny Roberts speedbumps (sic) paint job.

As far as I’m aware it enhances the value/desirability.

More sober colours for me.

I did see a CB650F in yellow that I liked but yellow particularly attracts flies and insects, like a big dandelion.

It's also a bit "Bumblebee"/Transformers.

It's nothing exciting and I'm not trying to advertise it here, just checking if there are any colours to buy / avoid in future or if there's a reason why yellow isn't popular

I like brightly coloured cars and bikes, but tend to buy the best available spec/condition for the price and almost always end up with silver/black/blue/white. frown

It’s the bike / colour combination more than just the colour.

For example I bet a yellow Ducati 748 would sell better than a red one while the opposite would be the case for a 916 series bike.

White is the only colour that is a fundamental problem for me but I’m not a fan of full on race rep colours e.g. Repsol on Hondas.

I’ve had a few yellow bikes and they’ve both been bikes I really liked. Probably nothing to do with them being yellow though.

I’m also trying to sell my bike but no real interest in 3 weeks other than those who want 50% off.

Daytona 900 in yellow would be on the list for my bike collection.

I remember back in 1975, the Honda SS50 came in metallic blue, red and yellowish and the yellowish was easily least popular.
The MSX125 came in white, red, black and yellow and I didn't see many in yellow though that may be availability as the local dealer never had one.

When I was looking at a black GSX-R1000R last year, the salesman told me, at resale time they would pay a higher trade in for one in blue.

If you’re buying from a dealer an unusual colour is a ‘limited edition that carries a premium’

If you’re trading in it’s not a standard colour so ‘sorry we can’t offer you as much’

I bought a yellow FZS600, don't really care what colour it is bar pink. If anything it helps me be seen more by blind drivers.

I had an 1150 GS in yellow for 10 years. Great bike, but I hated the colour from the day I bought to the day I sold - never again will I have a yellow bike.

Seeing a BMW G310R in white is what persuaded me to finally do my CBT with the aim of getting my licence and a bike. The other colour I like is blue, but that’s not offered on new G310Rs at the moment, only on early models.

Back in the day (late 80’s early 90’s) sporty Kawasaki’s such as the KR1 250 and ZXR 750 were either Green/White or Red/White. The Green variants were usually more desirable second hand. Not sure what the situation is now.
