Been looking at harleys lately but some of the jap ones seem to offer decent value for money...

Bought here on pistonheads 12 years ago. Chrome everything, powerful enough. Was a bargain at the time

Another model of Harley V-Rod - My 2012 VRSCF

There are quite a few different styles of "cruisers" out there, depending what aspect appeals. You may prioritise riding position, pillion comfort (or any pillion seat at all) power delivery, ground clearance (some are shockingly bad, some almost normal) luggage/touring capability etc

Don’t know about you but I find a lot of the Japanese ones just don’t quite look right somehow. Maybe I’m picky.

I’ll probably buy another one in Canada as all there is around here is pin straight roads.

The EN500 I did a bunch of work on back in the UK was great. Lots of fun to just tool about on.

I saw a Honda Fury here (Canada) the other day, looked and sounded better than the regular Harley crowd. Had to ask the owner what it was.

Vn900 various upgrades and fitted with Harley forks and twin disk brakes. Fantasit in the hot weather of the tropics. Ridden 2500 km two up across Borneo

My Custom 'Harley' built it twenty years ago, the only factory part on the bike is the tank, and that's been modified. Engine is 2150cc, makes 130bhp / 150 lb/ft at the rear wheel. Still weighs too much at 525lbs, trying to get it to less than 500lbs, it'll need carbon wheels etc to get there..

That's nuts. I like it.

Don't see too many of those around. Not all of them are off, but I find stuff like the V-Stars and Shadows just don't quite carry off the look, at least not stock. The Magna seemed to be popular here. Those can look great without too much effort.

I liked the look of a Guzzi California but after 25 miles it's not for me

Lovely bike, rides surprisingly well and bags of character but the position is not for anyone with long legs

Honda Rune! cool

Or red perhaps?

Ok I don't own one yet but I have already set aside a slush fund which is steadily growing. I love Honda's, for their reliability and uber engineering. I initially wanted a Wing after driving their latest DCT version last year which was very impressive. The Wing is just too much of a bike - moreover a two-wheeled caravan, and I really love my 18 plate ZZR so I have decided to keep it for touring and would like the Rune for sunny days out to the coast and bimbling about on.

Back in the day these cost $100k+ to build and today the asking price always seems to be around £18k for an original bike. I think they will have a cult following in years to come and I hope the values increase. The only issue is RED or BLUE? scratchchin

I saw a Rune in a motel car park in 2007. Mad bit of kit.
