2015/16 R1 jerky and easy to stall at slow speed
Discussion
My R1 sometimes stalls when going at slower speed or manoeuvring at junctions, doesn’t always do it and it’s not the clutch but more just the revs can drop and it’ll cut out now and then, when I can feel it start to do it pulling the clutch in and giving it a bit of a rev seems to sort it out but it’s really annoying, and it can be quite jerky and awkward at town speeds.
Going into a lower power mode helps a bit but I’ve heard this behaviour can be mapped out of them quite easily?.
Has anyone else suffered similar issues on them and know the best way to get it sorted?.

Thanks both, I will have to look into getting it sorted out as it’s quite annoying when you’re not riding it quickly.
Is it a difficult or expensive thing to sort out?.
Mine has got an Arrow full race system on it if that makes any difference?.
I’m assuming it must have been mapped for the exhaust already as it doesn’t have any flat sports etc and had a very strong and linear power delivery, it’s just a pain at low speed.

Has yours had the cat removed? To turn all the emissions settings off that cause the issue you need a decat pipe.
I can't remember what the relevant kits cost but it wasnt what I'd call cheap. I quite like the fact I can plug my laptop in and swap maps etc and fiddle about to get it feeling how I want it to.

Yeah it has had the cat removed, I’ve got the standard exhaust in a box but it’s got a full race system on there although it does have a lambda looking thing still, pops and bangs far too much to have a cat!.
I can live with spending 600/700 on getting it sorted, where abouts is the place you took it based?.

I just bought this:

And then to make it that bit smoother I bought this too:

If you're anywhere near Wilts you're welcome to see what mines like.

Standard the R1 does suffer from this, it'll be even more pronounced if a full systems fitted and it's not been flashed properly.
Thankfully plenty of people about that can sort it at not a huge expense.
JHS Racing in Bristol, REPS just over the border in Wales (Caldicot) to name just a few.
Had mine done at REPS who along with JHS use the Woolich software, completely transforms it, removes all the emissions garbage and restrictions, gets the top injectors working to smooth the throttle on decel and initial pick up.
They don't make mega gains at the top end with just exhaust and filter mods, but you'll pick up a bit and have strong mid range gains where it matters most.
Most I've seen range from 185-190 with the above on a dyno that's not catering to egos.
Normal costings are between £350-450 for a full flash and tune.
