MotoGP Le Mans
Discussion
As is traditional for the French round of MotoGP, it's raining - something that's always put me off going to Le Mans as it's not that far away.
It will be good to see if the Ducati riders can continue their form on another track that has rarely suited them. I appreciate Petrucci won here last year though. French riders rarely seem to go well at home, can Zarco or Quatararo change that?
Marquez still saying he is some way off full fitness.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Rossi.
He was 9th ahead of final qualifying in the dry - lowly by his historic standards, but has to be considered getting his eye in by recent form and given how close the racing now is.
Rossi isnt someone who is (now) going to take massive risks in mixed condition qualifying - but if he feels ok to push on the day, wet or mixed conditions could give him a chance.
I don’t think a good result is a dead cert - but if he keeps his head and has some luck (i.e. a few of the younger guys fall off), who knows.

Pol Espagaro has historically gone quite well in the wet on a number of occasions, and a better qualifying from him in 8th. I agree re Rossi: mixed weather should see Vinales go backwards and the KTMs come forward: as they struggle to trust the dry Michelin at full lean, wet tyres make that irrelevant. Might also help Marc as not quite so physical...although it's relative.

Qualy was decent but tomorrow over race distance he'll use his tyres up then moan as normal ( watch him win now)
Mir, Rins & Bagnaia have a lot of work to do, without lightning starts I think top six is probably about the limit of their ambitions today. If the weather stays lousy Miller, Zarco, MM93, P.Esp & Oliveira should all go well and I'm intrigued by Savadori who has done well following other people around so far this weekend.
