Right, so I've got my DA booked. Now I need to get myself some kit. My current list for the time being is:

Shoei Raid 2 helmet
Spada Circuit/Podium all season suit
Triumph Hard Carbon Gloves
Alpinestar gps3 boots.

Any suggestions as to the cheapest place to get these from?

Thanks,

Phill

Infinity Motorcycles are usually pretty good.

or ebay.

find out your sizes in a local emporium then let your fingers do the walking.

bargains to be had if you get lucky.

I've got one of these and they're very good but you're crazy to decide on a helmet without going a shop and trying them all on (even more so if you wear glasses). I did this and the raid 2 was a *much* better fit than any of the other lids so I bought it. Had any of the others been the one that fitted I'd have bought it instead.

I got mine at J&S. I don't know if they were the cheapest but they are local and were very helpful helping my find a lid that fitted.

Good luck,

Mark

I was looking at the Shoei when I went to get my first helmet last week. Girl in the shop made me try loads different ones on until one felt right. Turned out it was an AGV so went with that as it felt best, although doesn't look as good.

You definately have to go and try all the stuff on first.

I'd add ear plugs to that list

Thanks for the advice, I figured I'd need to try stuff on, and appreciate that the list may change, as I've just put it together based on the reviews I've seen in Ride. I was really just wondering whether anywhere was partiicually cheap.

Thanks,

Phill

Shop about,
1. Go try lots of different kit on.
2. Then search the net to find it cheaper.

For instance instead of paying a grand for a race suit look at places such as TIZWAZ in brighton. A google search should find the web site. They sell as new used leathers for feck all!

Found it yesterday and am currently spanking out sperm & Blood to sell, to make up the cash for some high quality leathers!

Also M&S accessories do some cheap kit. Are quite good for the odd bit if you dont mind last years kit.

The only thing i'd definately buy from a shop is a lid. Youve got to know its history and there is a difference between a £150 one or a £400 bute.

Good call, my wife has some virtually brand new kit that she never wears I could sell and buy a one piece with the proceeds

Cheers for correcting me mate, always make that mistake.

On the subject of correcting mistakes....

I think you'll find that TIZWAZ is in Bournemouth as opposed to Brighton.

But I'm sure Mr Google would have solved both of the above.

I'd second that.

And also recommend fitting a proper back protector inside your jacket, as most seem to come with a foam pad instead of the real thing.

Cheers
