Hello all,

I've been having some issues with my MVA. I think it is the ECU which was repaired last year, has failed.

So I booked into a local bike shop for them to have a look at it. As I can get the ECU fixed under warranty.

I call up once a week to see how things are progressing. Typically, the response is one of the following, the guy that looks into such things is
  1. not around,
  2. just stepped out and I've missed him
  3. has looked at it, but I can't tell you anything
  4. just on the phone and he'll call me back.
Obviously never does. It has been 10 weeks, to the day since I dropped it off.

Starting to feel like going round with a trailer and taking it back. Am I being overly cautious?

I would not have waited 10 weeks.

I had a repair that took 6 months once, due to the part being on back order. I put a few thousand miles on their courtesy bike (a brand new ER6N) in that time. The total bill was about £30. They've never had any repeat business from me since. I feel I need to buy a bike from them some day to make up for it. smile

I would have given it a couple of weeks without any real update from them. I could understand if they said the part was ordered and they were waiting for it to come in.

Is there nowhere else you can take it? like an official MV dealer?

That's really poor customer service in my book and the fact they can't even call you back or provide a proper update means I'd be getting my bike back ASAP.

Best of luck getting sorted but get round there tomorrow morning is my advice!

I'd have popped in by week two and if I wasn't confident that something was happening I'd have taken it away

Fair enough if a part is on back order and they can show you it's been ordered

Go and see them today

As posted I would have popped in, talked to the person in charge(Manager). Get a date when it's completed in writing. explains you need to know a date when it will be 100%.

If no support or feedback make a complaint to the manufacture and dealership. That always seems to get them to speed up

10 weeks to look at an ECU is taking the piss. If their guy has the skills and diagnostic tools it would take an hour or so to check it over.
