Has anyone done this? I've got a 2003 Daytona 600 and the front brake has quite a lot of travel. A larger cylinder supposedly makes things better.

Have you tried bleeding the brakes right through with new fluid first?

Long lever travel (when there wasn't any before) would suggest bleeding is required or if there's some sort of adjuster on the lever acting on the piston that may have wound out. But if you did want to get a master cylinder with a larger bore they're often quoted in imperial sizing for Americans. In reality, they're all quoted in mm as well (unless they're Harley Davidson). You'll find them in various bore sized up to 19mm. The larger the bore, the less lever travel but that'll have a more "on/off" feel. You may then be getting into the realm of radial master cylinders and you'll need a axial-to-radial converter, which you can probably source from a few suppliers - I got mine from HEL.

My bike with 14mm cylinder was known to have a long lever travel. I fitted 17mm brembo rcs. It improved travel and feel, but if i was to do it again. I would go for the 19mm.
