Might be working in London soon - near Great Portland St. How long do you reckon it would take to do this on a bike, in rush hour, from say the Denham junction of the A40 ?

Even in very heavy traffic your speed shouldn't need to drop below 15-20mph. And remember that you won't need to wait for traffic lights to change many times, whilst a queue of cars tries to get through them.

I'd think you could do it in 30mins in heavy traffic, quite comfortably.

I used to commute from High Wycombe to Queensway by bike every morning - it never took more than 40 minutes at the most.

My housemate was working in Shoreditch, and doing the journey from Uxbridge (no further from the A40 than Denham is) in under 40 mins. Great Portland Street should be do-able in 30 mins.
