Phil "Sandbagging" was an apt choice. Apparently every competitor had to go out and circulate for 20 mins early doors to help clean up the circuit.

Some photos show bikes with mud sprayed up the sides and on the forks. The circuit was muddy !

Dovi and Espergaro were outspoken on the riders safety riding 300 bhp monsters in mud.

From the pics I have seen looks like HRC have really kicked out the front end of the new bike, pic of Marquez may have been doctored but there is about 5 inches between the front tyre and radiator!! Looks like a chopper, must help stability, but surely makes it slow steering

Maverick third today.
Building up to Aprilia’s first win.

King of preseason as usual, won't win a race next season.

It's all over the place this year, there were at least some patterns in previous years.

Does look like Honda has employed some Harley Davidson chassis engineers during the off season?

It must have tiny radiators. Or there's some off-the-wall cooling thing going on like the surfaces of the fairings double as radiating surfaces....!

Edit: And it's monsoon season in Indonesia now!

Without looking at previous years bikes or other bikes this year from the side, is the wheelbase still the same but the engine compartment/fairing cut back to create a bigger gap for some devious aero advantage?

Yes, and it is nothing "new" as such, KTM did something similar on their very first MotoGP effort in 2016.
