Hi all

I know that Covid has really inflated car prices over the last 2 years, can you guys give me your insights into how bike prices have been going over the same period?

I bought bikes last year, at prices I sold them for the year before (as a trader)

I bought a 2016 KTM 690 from a KTM dealer 2 years ago and haven't seen one so cheap since even as private sales

So yes they are high, when are they coming down - who knows

Still silly at the moment. Give it 6-12 months when everyone starts selling their toys, then used prices should be back to normal.

Sounds about right to me - bike residuals tend to be stronger than car residuals anyway OP, and recently prices have firmed up even more. The same chip shortages that are affecting new cars have limited new bike supply as well, I believe, leading to longer waiting lists and dealers asking for top prices on nearly-new bikes that you'd otherwise struggle to get new.
