Motorcycle MOT in South UK

Not sure if this should be in the Biker Banter section, or the South Coast Regional section - it's about bikes, but it's area specific.... Happy to move it if I've put this in the wrong place!


I've just moved down here (Chichester area) and looking for a good motorcycle MOT station for my bike. Bike is a BMW Rockster and I've had the occasional experience where an MOT tester doesn't understand the Telelever front end system and so doesn't want to test the bike. Does anyone know of a good tester around here? (I'd rather take my bike to a strict tester than a lax one to be frank - there's always something safety related to be missed!)

I'm not paying 300% the cost of an MOT just for them to ride my bike back and forth to the ACTUAL MOT tester.

Is that actually true though? My local BMW car dealer don't seem to charge an uplift for MOTs (even if done at a different time from servicing).

They're not allowed to charge more than the MOT rate set by the DVSA.

Try ringing them and ask who they use if you’re that worried about your tele lever suspension
