Glove recommendation
Discussion
I bought some Held Score KTC recently, superb glove, well made, Gortex, great fit and I can see these lasting a long time, not too padded either so you have some feel.
Prices seem to have gone up, I got mine for £130.

Someone on here recommended these to me - worn for 2 years and they are great IMO
It seems they are on offer currently - I'm tempted to buy a back up pair

What put you off Held? I’ve found their gloves superb, although my experience of Racer has been excellent, too. I’m curious how Five gloves compare – are they as good as they look?
I used some Twins for a few winters, which I got on with well, until the liners started to pull out (almost unusable this winter, bought them in 2015 IIRC, so they had a decent run), but then bought some Chikaras in 2020. Managed to avoid really using them in the rain, but then when I did, I got soaked through. Has put me off the rest of their range.Early days on the Five, but they seem ok for warmth and are waterproof. Knuckle armour is very flexible, so not sure how that will stand up, but they are comfy and great dexterity for a winter glove, IMO.
Edit: also the Fives have a soft pad to wipe the visor, not a squeegee, which is excellent for the smeary, damp filth that coats the entirety of the surface of the UK, and my visor, through the months of darkness.

I have some Five gloves that are my in between seasons go to, not as thick as the winters, but warmer than the summer gloves so I don't need the heated grips on. Hoping for some warmer weather so I can get back in the A* ones.Edit: also the Fives have a soft pad to wipe the visor, not a squeegee, which is excellent for the smeary, damp filth that coats the entirety of the surface of the UK, and my visor, through the months of darkness.

It's not always evident because each brand is better at some things than others. Furygan makes good leathers, but their other stuff can be second-rate. Held makes some of the best gloves (perhaps second only to BKS M2M gloves) but among the worst boots. Alpinestars boots are, in my experience, superb. But you’ll find countless tales of woe from their gloves falling apart. Hideout crafts exceptional leathers and textiles but doesn’t make gloves. Scott Leathers makes first-class leathers, and its New Road and Road Airflow textile jackets are outstanding, but its TT textiles are mediocre. the different brands do different things better. Held are really good at gloves and leather suits but things like boots are terrible. Alpinestars do really good boots but their gloves aren’t amazing. They are all made in different factories and it depends on the factory as to what the quality is like. Unfortunately you don’t know that when buying.
And it’s impossible to tell online because the manufacturers of the best kit ( BKS M2M, Hideout, Scott Leathers) have some of the worst websites. I have some Dainese gloves that are a good blend of warm enough and waterproof. I think the link below is the right one. Decent protection but still comfortable enough. I also have some Rukka ones which are lighter weight and waterproof but feel like a real compromise when it comes to protection so I don't really wear them much - a bit of an expensive mistake.

Rukka - I think this is a more up to date model. Mine are at least three years old.
