I'm annoyed. I entered the MotoGP pole time competition and predicted a 2m01.905s So close.

Nice job so far by Ogden getting through all the slow bikes and getting a lap into q2.
And a very solid P12 on the grid, on a bike that is certainly not the fastest in the field. It has been good to see a British rider arrive seemingly so prepared, Ogden has made a good first impression.
Credit where credit is due, and to the Dorna system (and his British rider coach) that he has come through. If all the Brits start coming through like this, it will be a big change for the better.
Really tight in MotoGP, so many riders look like they have very similar race pace, but Ducati nailed quali.
Rooting for Cam in Moto2, but suspect Vietti will claim another win.
Will keep my eyes open for Ogden, need to have someone to cheer on with McPhee sidelined. Garcia and Guevera didn't do so well in quali, surely they'll come through the pack?

Danger in the pack for Moto3 here is that the long straights and slow corners mean it's easy to lose the tow. Bit of an incident at turn 1 or on the way to the straight and their afternoon could go down the pan before the end of lap one. Rooting for Cam in Moto2, but suspect Vietti will claim another win.

It's turning into a very interesting season. It's everything or nothing with Bastianini and did Marquez have the pit lane limiter on at the start?
It didn't look like it was a limiter issue as it didn't even accelerate up to 60/80kmh (whatever the pitlane limit was)It was nice to be able to see the faces of the pit crews and team members, thankfully the US seems a lot more relaxed about mask wearing.
Looked more like anti-stall? Stonking ride through the pack, will have done his confidence no harm.
Couple of great races, Bestia, Rins and Marquez were the pick of GP for me. Foggia just seems to be a cut above the rest, although good to see Masia sparkling, and Oncu and Sasaki had some great moments.
Moto2 ended up being strung out and a bit boring; disappointed with Canet, an unforced error. Podium was interesting, should give them all a boost.

Not sure what it is about Moto2, but it just hasn't worked that well for a long time, they either need a lot more power or a lot less to make slipstreaming and drafting yey. So many 2 races are dull, it seems you can reach a very finite limit on setup and it is tiny margins that decide races, and has been for a long time.

Needs more chassis entrants, like year 1. Now it's Kalex or bust. There have only been 2 title winners not on a Kalex, Elias (year 1) and Marquez in 2012.And in the first year of Moto2 there was only one Kalex entrant, for only one race at the Sachsenring, he finished 23rd. Following year Bradl on a Kalex won the the title amongst still a good range of chassis, and apart from Marquez riding a Suter the next year it's been Kalex ever since.
Personally I would like to see more than one engine supplier, you could easily balance it out, but then you would have some jeopardy, some tracks where the Triumph would work, so where say a Yamaha R6 motor would be better, Ducati have just started using a twin in WSS, it would be great tog et them involved as they look likely to stay around in MotoGP too. Then you could have different chassis, to suit a twin, across the frame four and the triple, leading to slightly different development routes.
Have to say Aldeguer looks a talent on the Speedup, hope that works out,. Shame the NTS didn't work out either. Lovely looking bike, as the FTR was over here.
Oh and Moreira in Moto3, looks like a real find, great for Brazil too, have had no real riders since Barros

Mat Oxley did a super article on this in his Motorsport Magazine column. His take on this was that Dunlop use the same tyres as in World Endurance, if I recall correctly. They are too hard for Moto2. You can get them to warm up and gain a big advantage if you push hard early on, but you have a huge risk of crashing in so doing. If you wait for the tyres to come in, you lose loads of time. Sack off Dunlop or force them to supply a different tyre and we may see an improvement.
Interesting, I recall reading stuff about the 2 stroke era and Aprilia and Honda with the big 500 twins, they had amazing struggles getting tyres to work as they were sing 250 tyres basically or slightly bigger and those tyres would not work as well on a 500 obviously, later on Aprilia managed to get Michel on board to make a proper tyre for the RSV500 and they started to get great results
