Any recommendations? Laid the bike down in right side, so I need a new tail, headlight, and body fairing. Plus a couple of smaller black pieces. I'd like it to look OEM. 2006 ZX6R (green).

I'm thinking of buying from here:

Any pitfalls with such places?

Yeah hunt for second hand OE. Still price up new ones from the dealer so you've got a reference for bargaining for second hand ones, or as a fallback if you can't get all of them second hand.

It always makes me smile when people say they 'layed it down' instead of saying 'i crashed it'.
Anyway to echo others, look for used OE stuff rather than Chinese stuff as it's better quality.

Thanks chaps. After starting the thread I decided I'll try to get the damage repaired, or replace with second hand. These replacement kits seem a bit of a mine field.

More track use or are you intending to get it ready for sale?

If the former plan on crashing again and buy with that in mind.

Maybe two sets are in order if short term track, potential sale medium term.

It always makes me smile when people say this. I think you'll find 99% of OE stuff is Chinese manufacture rebranded. It pretty much is for Yamaha, and BMW at least.

A few more TDs on it though?

Imagine getting it back to being tidy, then
falling off again.

I've got one booked whistle

My situation currently means it's not the right time to get another bike, or convert this one to a track bike. Next year I plan to get a trailer and track bike.

I can only go by my experience as a time served paint sprayer for 15 years.
In my experience the Chinese aftermarket fairings are in general poor quality compared to OE, both in the quality of paint finish and the durability of the actual panel itself. Aftermarket fairings in my experience soon become brittle and suffer from cracks and crazing around bolt holes and fixings much sooner than original kit.

I think with that experience I more inclined to believe you, than myself.

I suspect you are both right

OEM may well be made in China, even in the same factory as the knock offs but they may be OEM rejects or made to less exacting standards

The biggest problem with Chinese stuff is lack of quality control - which is why the OEMs will frequently install one of their staff in the factory to constantly monitor it

Chinese aftermarket fairings are st, don’t fit properly and crack easily. Avoid.

Even if they were made from the same moulds in the same place, the process and materials are key to a good product, both easy to cut corners on!
