Bike Driers

Anyone use one?

I'm thinking they could make my life easier , quicker and do a more thorough drying job on some areas of my bikes than the microfibre I use.

Space is at a premium so smaller the better...not being a cheapskate but the less than £100 would be perfect, if thats achievable.

Recommendations welcome, please.

I’ve had one of these for years now, they’re brilliant and once you’ve had one you won’t want to be without. Only slight downside is they’re quite noisy in my opinion.

Compact leaf blower would be my choice, although that one above looks good it feels a bit steep at 95 sheets

Despite drying with a drying towel, It’s only when you use a blower ya realise just how much water is left behind.

I’d be wary using a leaf blower to dry a bike cos it won’t be filtered air.

I bought a pet dryer as it was a lot less than an actual bike dryer. It does the job for a fraction of the price.

I have the model below that one and it’s champion.
It blows either cool or warm air and is powerful enough to blast the water out of all the nooks and crannies.

Worth the investment imo.

I use the big boi from ultimate finish on my cars and bikes…..it’s brilliant.

Have one, rarely use it, microfibre is quick and gets most of the water off. These make a racket, even more so when the air whistles into the crevices on the bike. They do work well but have downsides (noise/speed).

I think it is the firing of high speed grit…like a mini sandblaster they are worried about.

I use an Aldi compressor they are sub £100

Obviously it's great for other things too - from fence painting to cleaning carbs

Presumably it’d be possible to repurpose an old hoover, which are cheap 2nd hand.

Same, works very well and is quite strong. Put the smallest spot attachment on and high on full and its like a blow gun from a compressor.

They are not very complicated, I can't see any reason why a bike drier would be 'better' than the pet equivalent.

I have a big compressor in my garage with air line amongst other bits and after cleaning the bike especially in winter I use it to blow the excess water

Whatever you go for having something like that works in my opinion

i use one of these had it for a number fo years so much the end is taped on the the nozzle flies off

handy in the winter getting rid of pooled water- summer not so much used like the other day when it was hot bike dried itself
