Hi everyone, I’ve got just over a week booked off work which was supposed to be used to go on holiday abroad but for a few different reasons it’s been cancelled.

I’ve recently bought a bike and thought it would be a good opportunity to travel somewhere nice with it.

Only potential issue is that I haven’t had any of the covid jabs. Would there be any problems with travelling through countries like France or Italy? Has anyone else travelled about without proof of covid jabs?

Thanks

I’ve been three times in the last 5 weeks to France, but I am jabbed up, well at least til mid august, France is 9m since last one.
What I can tell you if once there, I’d be surprised if you are asked to show anything, status wise. Although perhaps if yiu end up in a medical facility etc yiu may be. Normal shops and restaurants, no problem.
BUT, we did have to file everything to get into France with Tunnel and Ferry companies. So that may be your hurdle.
I believe though you can travel to France but you need to test on arrival.
As for moving into Italy or other areas, I suspect you’d nit get stopped but yiu may need to test similarly at each point.
But we were not asked for covid passes at any establishment we went to in France or Belgium.

I was in Italy for the Mugello GP a few weeks ago. Rode from Spain through France and to Italy and no issues regarding covid jabs. However, when I got the ferry home (Genova-Barcelona) I needed to be fully jabbed up (I was) so as mentioned, that could be your only issue.

Most evidence of vaccination are cards and handwritten, they are not ‘forms’ as such. You will have to invent the batch number of the vaccine as well.

I went to Le Mans. Did a LFT at local pharmacy & uploaded a photo to Eurotunnel website where someone would apparently manually check it. I'm almost certain it would have vanished into the ether by now & nobody would have bothered even looking at it.
The 'certificate' I was given was a black & white piece of A4 paper which a 5 year old could mock up. I suppose if one tested positive it would be extremely easy to manipulate the text using Microsoft Paint & a scanner....
I was not asked a single time to produce the certificate either at the UK/France border or anywhere else.

I've been to Italy and Germany in the last couple of weeks. No one asked to see any evidence travelling to or from Italy, but I needed to provide evidence before they would let me in to Germany (I know you're not planning on travelling there, but just for info).

I have had 2 jabs and booster and it is recorded on the NHS app.

The best at-a-glance guide I've found is this:

https://www.kayak.co.uk/travel-restrictions?travel...

In summary, the only country you cannot enter if not vaccinated is the Netherlands.

France, Spain, Portugal, and Kosovo all require negative tests.

All other countries are fully open at the time of writing, including Italy.

Enjoy your trip!
