Washing or dry cleaning leather pants
Discussion
OK for a fraction of the new price I've taken the plunge and bought my first leather pants, Dainese.
They look immaculate and the owner states worn a few times.
That's still had a man's junk in them and would you slip on another's pair of trousers after a nice warm sweaty day?
To wash? Why not? On a cold wash the pants would have been subjected to hot production process etc etc in it'd early days.
Then hang out to thoroughly dry before nourishing the leather.
Or dry clean?
A sponge down, for me wouldn't suffice.
I only paid £45 so if it goes wrong...

I read somewhere that you need to use a steamer with acetic acid/water mix and don't blast them but allow the steam to carry the acid into the fibres and inside the leather, then allow them to dry out naturally hanging up.
Not tried it myself but sounds reasonable - the steam and mild acid will kill any bacteria or mould and a quick wipe down afterwards removes it. Do it twice and it's probably done.
I'd clean the outside with https://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/Cleaning/lea... then use this to give it a nice finish: https://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/waterproofin...
