I see that Tito Rabat the 2014 MOTO 2 World Champion is taking over Luke Mossey’s ride at Tag Honda. Whilst I hope Luke gets another ride, I think adding Tito into the mix could really liven things up, like when Gregorio Lavilla and John Hopkins entered the championship and when Niall Mackenzie, Leon Haslam and Scott Redding came back from the World Championship into BSB.

Whilst I still love BSB, I just haven’t had the same enthusiasm for it as in previous years.

Redding is the only rider who has had any success moving to BSB from a 'traction' control series.

I'll eat my hat if Rabat does anything.

Failed spectacularly in MotoGP, failed spectacularly in World Superbike, is he going for the hat trick?

Can't see him making any kind of impact , as said he's struggled previously since winning the Moto 2 crown, and the Tag Honda team arnt likely to be having a front running capable bike.

Liked to be proved wrong though, as it could add to the mix.

Gut feeling is he'll get eaten alive.

He was the man in Moto2 once upon a time. Could come good.

He was the man in Moto2 because from what I recall he spent every living second on either an old moto2 bike or some kind of race bike on a racetrack!!

Yup, think he was the reason why there is now a testing/practice ban in place.

Still, i'm excited to have another ex-world champion in BSB. More world champions in BSB than in WSB! (I think!?)

According to this article he's currently leading the Spanish SBK championship: https://www.visordown.com/news/racing/bsb/ex-motog...

Does anyone know the spec of bikes in the Spanish super bikes?

From what I can find I think they are more like the BSB superstock bikes.

They do look like stockers from the pics I can find.

If he shows good form for the remainder of this season, he could be a title challenger next year.

If Boris Johnson was a woman he could be a supermodel.

I have nothing against Rabat but what is he going to do that Sykes, Fores, Haslam etc. can't.

Lets not forget that Mossey and Linfoot (who's place Mossey is said to be taking) are decent riders.

I will agree that if by some miracle Rabat is fast it will be good for the series but its just not going to happen.

And quoted for posterity. On a Honda i don't see him being a race winner but i think he could certainly bother the front runner and add a bit of spice to things. But starting at Thruxton will be interesting and as someone said, wait until he sees Cadwell hehe

Scott Redding won the championship on circuits he hadn’t seen before.
The cream will always rise to the top. For an example in BSB just look to Gregorio Lavilla and John Hopkins.

Just seen an article and now can't find it but he's on a BMW for a small independent team with pale blue livery (I think)

The original press release from Tag basically said something like 'that they just couldn't find a winning package working together'
Reading between the lines, he either wasn't performing, or he thought they weren't giving him a good enough bike.
Either way, it appeared to end amicably although he's gone to the PR BMW which really isn't performing, so not sure what he's expecting to achieve there. He's a class rider on his day though

Hopefully, Tito will spend the time learning all the tracks before the BSB rounds this year
Obviously, he can't go an learn Thruxton now, but all the rest of the circuits are easy enough to do trackdays on using a stocker. That's what Redding did, and all the circuits (other than Thruxton) he'd done loads of laps of before the BSB rounds
