BT010 -> BT014
Discussion
I'm thinking of going the other way from BT010 to BT020 on a ZXR750, as I do a lot of commuting 350 miles pw and the 010s seem to be going down quite quickly and I'm no Foggy.
Have you had a look on the Bridgestone site at the intended use graph for the sports tyres, not much of a guide I know but might help.
Let know what you decide and how it works out.

I'm using my blade for commuting so am knocking through the tyres at a reasonable rate.

Isn't it typical, having bought the bike not so long ago, I finally get the same tyres on it front and back, and then they go and change the lines

Unfortunately it's the rear I've just changed and the front that is dead, ...aw what the hell considering how much of a wuss I am, I don't suppose it matters too much other than it's nice to have both the same
According to the blurb on site the 14s look as though they may last longer 'with they're new technology'

Ive gone from 010 to 014's!!
I had two sets of michelen pilot powers in between, but I can happily tell ou the 014's are so far proving to be the best tyres I ve had.
the 010's felt wooden by comparison, lots of feedback from the road, and wear isnt looking too bad so far.
Cant see it lasting as long as the 010, but time will tell.
Done a trackday on them, and they were exellent!

i only have had 1 set of bridgestones on a bike, it was my Fireblade which due to the lack of feeling in the tires caused me to highside going around a roundabout, causing over £2ks damage to the bike and smashing my shoulder to pieces, dont know if it was me making a mistake(probably very likely) but i had pushed hard around the same roundabout with different tires on many times before and no problem so now i always go with Pilot Powers, theyre the best for me, not sure about price difference though.

I've also changed to the 014's and can report that they are very good compared to the 010/020 tyres and they are good in the wet. The front tyre isn't wearing unevenly like the 010's do on heavy bikes, but I've only done a few thousand on it so far.

Thats interesting do you no trate the pilot powers? or are the 014 just a little better?
Im loving the piolot powers but they dont turn as quick as the 012's that were on previously

only done a few thousand? Thats encouraging. I only manage a few thousand out of a rear anyway...
Got caught on the M42 last week in torrential/river forming floods. Didnt seem any different from dry riding.
Did rockingham on Sunday got one damp session, and it seemed fine then too.
Because I do mainly motorway riding on my commute I usually get about 10,000 out of a set!

I've recently put an 020 on the back and an 014 on the front of my Firestorm. Really nice setup. Done about 1500 miles so far in 2 months. They look to be lasting well. Hopefully both tyres should wear evenly as big twins eat rears.
The only problem was getting them fitted as allegedly this is not a reccommended fitment according to Bridgestone. Lots of people on the 'Storm UK index run a similar setup though.

Sorry for the delay, what with the holiday and my chain problems today was the first time I've ridden the bike in 3 weeks.
New tyres are much better than the old ones. It's always difficult comparing new tyres with shagged out old ones but I believe that they offer more feedback anc give more confidence. In my enthusiasm this morning to be back on the bike I forgot I hadn't done much scrubbing in but the tyres even felt fine when the front tyre momentarily slid out on a roundabout.
Very happy

A friend has switched to BT020s on his ZX6R - he had BT014s but they wore out really quickly. He's loving them. He says they take a bit longer to warm up and on Sunday we were riding pretty hard (with me on my 7R with D208s on) and he was keeping up, though he said he could feel the tyres squirming under hard cornering.
I went out with an IAM instructor the other day who has a BMW RT1150 tourer thing (like a Pan) and he ran on BT020s and he had scrapes on his pegs, centre stand, lower fairings AND the bottom of the engine cylinders (they stick out, but hell, thats hard cornering!!). I also couldn't lose him when I was cornering moderately hard.
I plan to switch to BT020s when I next need new tyres as I get less than 2k miles out of a rear D208!

I run 020s on my ZZR1200. The bike eats 010s (last 010 rear only lasted 1010 miles
