OK - I've searched the forums and found some stuff about solar trickle chargers, what are your thoughts for the winter? (my garage has no mains supply and no I can't run an extension lead - its 12 miles away)

(Yes I know I should just ride over the winter)

I'd remove the battery, take it home with me and charge it there.

I'm wondering how much light there's going to be in a locked garage for a solar powered trickle charger.

Nice thinking about the locked garage - How about putting the solar charger on the roof!

(Brilliant huh - I should get a Nobel Prize) ;-)

most chargers recommend disconnecting the battery anyway, so you might as well take it home.
I used to sell the solar charges and they are good - ie work. but a mains charger is only going to cost 8p in electric all winter.
