I want to change my front sprocket to a 15t, one down from standard. Does anyone know if I need to buy a speedo re-calibrator?

Need to or want to?

I did this on my VTR & got someone to ride alongside me at 30 and 60mph so I knew what the true reading was & adjusted my speed accordingly.

Hows it going James? enjoying it??

On my VTR I run a £10 Halford's cycle computer. Far better and more accurate then the original (KPH) speedo.

If the speedo is driven off the gearbox rather than one of the wheels you'll need to do something if you change the sprocket(s).

Anna,

Great bike, took it round Donington last Tuesday with Whitham and MacKenzie for the Premier Track Attack. The only gripe I had was getting it to change direction through Craner and again at Foggy's. It's great for practicing counter steering!! Brakes, etc. were spot on apart from low end drive (hence the 15t front). The cause could have been the orginal exhaust being put back on the bike without the exhaust valve being re-connected. They had a 98db limit on the day which was a pain as my friends Gixer failed with his road legal can!! I have got some good pictures from the day which I shall try and post soon. The only down-side was that I have scratched my lower fairing trying to follow Mr. Whitham through Redgate. My boots are worn down on both feet which means that I am probably not hanging off the damn thing enough. Great laugh though!! Sorry to hear you won't be road riding anymore. Any more thoughts on sports car ownership??
